MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoes
01-25-07 ![]() |
I might be biased ssing as these are the first snowshoes i've purchased, but they are freakin' sweet. excellent traction on ice and packed snow (they shine here) and pretty good on the fluffy stuff too. i'm looking forward to steep hills to give the Televator function a good test. MSR makes grerat gear and these are no exception. |

Best Jacket Ever

I love this jacket. I've had the original unhooded version which was good, but this model has everything the other lacked. Hood? check. Pit zips? check. plus, the thing is freakin' waterproof. did i mention i love this jacket? the fit is a little larger than the unhooded model which is great for layering. only nitpick? the cuffs could use a hook and loop closure to keep wind and water out better while climbing. otherwise 5 stars! |

Pretty good pant all around. Warm and waterproof with excellent venting. Wish it came with it's own integrated belt. great for snowshoeing. |

Good, not fabulous

These pants were my second choice as Mountain Hardware no longer makes the micro ozone pants for men. these are very warm but do not block the wind as much as i would like. they are great under a softshell pant or rain pant for additional warmth. alone they are good down to freezing as long as there isn't much wind. lenght is good and they are loose and comfy but not too loose to wear as an underlayer. all in all, not bad. |

My new fav shirt
03-19-07 ![]() |
As the title of this review indicates, the delta is my new favorite shirt. It's windproof, very water resistant with it's DWR coating. it's not too thick and it's loosing in the fit than the Mountain hardware transition so it doesn't itch as bad and can easily layer underneath. cant wait to take it climbing and on multi-day trips to really test it out. only flaw? expensive. |
