After skiing on Garmont Gara's for 4 years, I finally made the switch last year to the much talked about Scarpa T1. Wow, what a difference. I loved my Gara's and they were great for me at the time but they were soft and I had longed for the day when I would not have to worry about going too fast (I love to ski fast!) So I bought some T1's and a pair of K2 Work Stinx. Awesome combo! Fast and confident in all conditions. The T1's inspired me to buy a pair of K2 Hippy Stinx this year and I can't wait to shred the chunky crud and deep pow. I'm 5'9" and about 150 lbs and with the T1, I dont hesitate to go big with my skis or the terrain. Buy the Scarpa T1, and be prepared to destroy the Mountain's Face!
