I am quite impressed with the fit and function of the Z/1 Chaco. I used them for fly fishing wet. The sandal conformed and held well to my foot, and gave good traction on rocks. If both sandal and rock are wet there was some slippage, but that is the nature of friction or lack there of. I also bought some Salomon Karmas. I think the Chacos had a little better grip on wet rocks, Salomons protect the fit better, and are lighter so I take them backpacking. I like the Salomons for kayaking, but really enjoy slipping on the Chacos for walking around. In or out of water they are at home on my feet.
