You get just what you'd expect from Eagle Creek with this duffel. High durability with extensive detail in bombproofing are highlights with this duffel. All the stitching, materials, and sizes of zippers and straps etc are great. One detail with this, it might be nice if the bottom of the duffel were a slightly heavier weight Cordura. Not that it's insufficient, but why not make that abuse prone area a little tougher? Functionally, the duffel is nice. The one accessory pocket on the outside is actually quite big but still out of the way. I like the rubber material on the padded closure for the hand straps. The metal hardware for the shoulder strap, the attachments and clips are strong and easy to use. The biggest gripe with this duffel for me, and the reason it got a 4 and not a 5 is the shoulder strap itself. I own a briefcase by Eagle Creek and as far as the padding on the strap is concerned, it's identical. For the kind of loads that a duffel this size can handle, the padded section of the shoulder strap is way too thin as well as not being long enough. It's hard to place it right on your shoulder. This is a major oversight. Overall though, the duffel is solid and I doubt you could do much better in finding a simple but durable and functional cargo duffel.
