The Zag FR84 skis are truly ‘all-terrain.’ During the 7 days in Alta, I tried them on hard pack, ice, crud, crust, mogul and, of course, powder—boot to knee deep. They have the same soft flex as my old B3 similar to the new B4. As they are torsionally stiff, edge hold is good on ice. The large tips and big sidecuts enable them to be highly maneuverable in powder/mogul. They tend to float on crud/crust. The skis are very responsive and hence energy efficient to use. Quite a few skiers including instructors asked me what the skis were. Get yourself a pair and you won’t regret!
