Karhu Jak 186 Review
01-16-08 ![]() |
Bought these skis at the beginning of this season and have ski'd them about 10 times in deep powder. I love em. Nice flotation, solid feel, look great. I am using Targa T9 binding with them. I like to use these as a powder specific ski rather than an in-bounds resort ski on hard pack. I don't really like the way they handle on hard pack snow, but in the powder they're perfect. 5 stars. |

Targa T9 Tele Binding Review
01-14-08 ![]() |
I just bought a new set of tele's, and when faced with the decision between all of the tele bindings out there, I decided to choose the same binding that I've been skiing for 4 seasons now - the Targa T9. I skied this binding hard for 3 straight seasons and had zero issues. At the beginning of this season, I had to replace a heel cable, but apart from that, they've been perfect. Made sense to buy them again for my new skis, and once again, I'm happy. NOTE: they do NOT come with a climbing wire. Do yourself a favor and buy one with your T9's. |

Black Diamond Ascension STS Skins

Have been using these skins for two seasons skiing the Teton's and the Wasatch. The skins perform great, easily allow climbing up 30-35 degree slopes, and have no problems with the glue or the grip surface. I have only one caution: mine came with "skin savers", a perforated plastic-like material that you're supposed to put between the glue surfaces when storing, and after about 1/2 a season, they began deteriorating and leaving plastic bits all over the glue surface of the skins. If these skins are still coming with those skin savers, save yourself some headache and toss 'em in the garbage and store the skins the old fashioned way. Other than that, five stars. |
