This jacket is just that, OK. If you are expecting something awesome, this isn't it. It's literally just a thin shell, nicely designed. Pockets in all the right places. Keeps the water out and offers some wind resistant. Do not expect it to keep you warm though, wear a fleece underneath for temp below 20s. I had a chance to try out the AK 3L, much better material with the Goretex. If you got the cash and don't mind the dull color of AK 3L, go for that instead of this.

My previous pair was Burton approach, not good at all. The XCR protected my hands from cold, wind and snow. The liner is really nice, I kept them on for driving after a day on the slop. I also tried the Gore-Tex. Just as nice, but it’s on the bulky side compared to XCR.
