I guess it has to do with the windproof layer (which I haven't put to the test yet), but when you put this hat on it sounds like you are trying to hear with headphones on. Very odd. It's comfy but not sized well. I got a large, and it seems far too big but it is snug around the crown which makes me think that the medium would be too tight. I say, if you need a windproof, cover-your-ears type hat, this might be the one for you.

This is a wonderful jacket; fitted but roomy, great style and plenty of pockets. Haven't needed in the wind yet, but I can imagine it will do the job it needs to do.
