The waist adjusts. The length adjusts with a few snaps. The size small easily works for a seven slim girl with a little tightening in the waist adjustment, and if you have little one who is taller no problem. They are really long with the snaps undone at the bottom. They stay dry all day. They are warm enough with long johns on for those really cold frozen boogie days. To top it off they look cool-not puffy and little-kid like. If you have a lean kid who wears two sizes smaller than her age, like mine who is always getting stuck with the little kid look but wants to look like a big kid, these are it with all the kid features kids need.
