Hammerheads

I've skied on Hammerhead Bindings for the past five years. This year our family has added three new pairs to outfit the whole crew. Our cabin partners also bought Hammerheads after skiing on mine (and demoing skis with G3's). These are the best tele bindings out there! The toe pressure on the trailing ski provides superior control in the tele turn. However, I grew up as an alpine skier and still make a lot of parallel turns - especially in powder. For the parallel skier, the Hammerheads are awesome. Set the pivot in position four and the binding holds your boot very close to the ski and is the closest thing to an alpine binding you can have without locking down the heel. I skied on several demo skis this year that were mounted with G3 bindings. They worked well, but cannot touch the Hammerhead which provides more toe pressure, better heal hold down, and better control. The Hammerheads are also indestructible. My oldest pair are about 5 years old and going strong. The one-piece toe is bomber and mates to the Nordic-norm toe of the boot very tightly. Our cabin partner recently mounted Hammerheads on his new K2 Work Stinx. He used the mounting adapters that allow you to mount the hammerheads using the K2 inserts. This worked like a charm and provides the ability to adjust the mounting position forward/backward by using different holes in the adapter plate as well as the two (or three) different inserts in the skis. This is a great feature as it allows you to dial in the mounting position without drilling holes in the skis. |

Glidelite skins

Over the past two years, I've purchased three pair of BD Glidelites for our family. They've all worked flawlessly for us. They're light, the glue has stuck in all conditions, and we haven't had any problems on the nasty steep skin tracks that some young studs and studettes have set. The attachment system works well. |
