I needed a pack for day hiking. This Jansport model is well designed, and was a good buy. It's roomy without being bulky, and it rides securely on my back above my waistline, without sagging. The two full-size water bottle pockets are a plus. I have several other fanny packs, including the well built, but small and high priced Marmot Excursion, an LL Bean, three from Cabela's, one from Kelty, and two Field Line models. The Jansport is my favorite.
