My name is Klaus Grønlund, and I'm from Denmark - Scandinavia. I bought these pants because I was going to climb Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden, 200km (125 miles) north of the polar circle. It was a winter climb so we experienced temperatures as low as -20F (-30 Celsius) strong winds and a lot of snow. The Mountain Hardwear Nexus pants were great. On the cold days, I wore some synthetic and wool long underwear pants underneath my Nexus pants. It was more than enough to keep me warm. The pants are 100% windproof and you can crawl around in the snow for several minutes without getting your knees wet! The gaiters in the pants leg are also excellent to keep the snow out! I give the pants my best recommendations!
