Cool and effective grippers on the arms and the nosepiece. Super light and great coverage. Good for casual riding and cloudy days. They have an eye-catching look that goes great with anything. |

predictable

Got these with the 20% off coupon, so the price was good. These are my third pair of Salomon trail runners. They fell just as cushy if not more than the XA Pro 3D, light, too. Same roomy toe box, great traction on loose over hardpack, sand and rocky trails. The ability to shove the top of the laces in the top of the tongue is also a neat feature. The only drawback is that the light blue color gets obviously dirty fast. I wish they made it in grey with a light blue accent. I will definitely keep buying Salomon shoes. |

Unique

The fit is a little tight around the chest and a little on the long side for shorties like me (5' 4''), but great for tucking in. I got the olive color and the light blue goat goes great with it. Everyone else thinks the goat looks cool and wants to know where it came from. Great casual shirt. |

Good shorts
08-21-06 ![]() |
My honey, Sam, loved the shorts the first few times that he wore them. He loved the look, fit and the padding. Then, the elastic loop inside the rear of the waistband broke. Seems like a really minor thing, but that loop was cinching the waist for him to prevent plumber's crack...to the alterations lady for repair. Otherwise, really comfortable and cool looking shorts. The vents and pockets are great. |

Roomy 100 L

I used it for a 2 week mountain biking trip. I packed 5 days worth of lounging clothes, 4 days of mtb attire, 2 swimsuits w/outfits, extra bodywear, full face helmet, XC helmet, body armor, shin/knee guards, hydration pack, extra tire, multi-tools and still had more than enough room for 12 lbs of my buddy's stuff cause he couldn't fit all of his stuff in his 2-piece roller bag. I had it stuffed to 50 lbs and it was easy enough to carry with one of the backpack straps (easier for me, since, I am 5'4"). I've also used it for camping. Just had to buy compartments to make organization easy. I flew Jetblue and wasn't charged an oversize fee. Check the the airline site for the oversize dimensions, Jetblue is 62" and over 50lbs. Bottom line, if you want a huge, versatile duffel, this is it. Tough material, lots of space, lockable zippers, backpack strap and inner mesh pockets. Grey color is easy to spot on the carousel. I only wish it had mesh pockets on both ends, in addition to the two underneath the flap. Also, compression straps inside would be another great detail to add. |

Got this at 50% off. I'm 5'4" and got a small. It fits perfect. It has a clean lines and stitching. The metal buttons are a nice touch and the second to the top snap button makes sure you don't have any wardrobe malfunctions. The material is stretches slightly, so it gives a nice tailored look. |

DH or with pack
08-18-09 ![]() |
I love the fit and feel of Sombrio shorts. I'm 5'4" 130 and the small fits perfect. It sits just below the belly button which is great for me cause I don't want to traumatize folks behind me with the omnipresent crack. It drops down to the top of my knees. I've crashed with these shorts and it hasn't left a mark. The tiny pockets are a little better than last year's because it no longer has the magnets. I can just fit some money, chapstick and a key in two pocket. The lift pass thing is cool, but at places like Northstar, they want you place the pass on the handlebar. Overall, I love these shorts because of the fit, look and resiliency. I wish it had more functional pockets, but it's a DH short. I can't carry any gel blocks or other snacks in it, but that's what the pack is for. I also got this with the 50% off coupon, so, it was a great deal. |

Does it all
08-18-09 ![]() |
These shorts are a bit pricey, but I lucked out with the 50% off coupon. I never really dug the Fox shorts for women before, but decided to give it a try. I'm 5'4" and 130 with a round rear. I bought a small and it fits great on/off the bike. The adjustable waist thing works if you need it. I love the functional pockets (and it appears to be seam taped) that I can get to easily when I stop for a snack or to look at a map that I've retrieved from it. The sunglass wipe is attached to the left rear pocket and comes in handy. The material is semi-stretchy and is pretty thin, so it breathes well. The legs go down right to top of my knee, so the length is perfect when I'm doing DH/FR. I've also used if for XC and it was perfectly fine. The only caveat was the padded liner. It was a bit too chunky for me, but it's detachable, so off it went. Without the liner, it's also a pretty cool lounge around short. It's one of my faves. |

Nice feel
08-11-09 ![]() |
It's a fitted shirt, but not too tight. It flatters those of us that aren't well endowed between our shoulders. The feel is soft without feeling too thin. I thought the sleeves would be longer, but they work. It caught the eyes of a few of my friends. Best of all was the price. |

Nice surprise

I ordered a size down and the fit is perfect. The material is soft and drapes well with just the right rise. The length is perfect, just past the knees for me (5'4"). I only wish the front pockets didn't have a tendency to flare out a bit. Great for lounging around town and for casual hikes. |

Functional, too

Like the others, go a size smaller and they're perfect. Great for stylin' (got lots of compliments). Forgot my mtb shorts, so I wore them over my lycra with a belt. As it turned out, these shorts are great for riding. I only wish the back pockets were functional. The back pockets are a third of the size of what they should be. |

Bought these for a die-hard cotton socks man. He wouldn't admit it, but loves these socks. He's been wearing them every time we take the pups out on the trail. |

great deal

I've had these for a few weeks, now. I've worn them for work, trail running and mountain biking. So, far, so good, but I did notice a small hole in one of them. It's matches the SoCal weather this time of year (March/April). I'll have to wait and see if it's too much for our summer temps. |

Toasty
01-02-08 ![]() |
I've had the XA Pro 3D for about a year and love it. That pair took me from the valley to Half Dome and back in a handful of hours without blisters. So, when it got a little cold and wet, I decided to get the XCR version. First off, it was brand new, so I felt the added stiffness in the sole and the rest of the shoe. The added weight is negligible. I went for a 1/2 hour slog over some snow and was pleased that my feet were dry and toasty. My buddy, on the other hand, had popsicles for feet. On cold days, I also noticed that the Goretex membrane blocks wind. I'll definitely stick with the Salomons. These shoes are comfy, perform very well and fit my wide toe box feet. |

Just right

I've only worn it a handful of times and I have no complaints. I wear it when the weather dips into the 40's. I've worn it under my wool work pants, capris and riding shorts. It doesn't bunch up and so far, hasn't lost elasticity. It's snug without feeling tight and keeps me warm without overheating. The wide waistband is a nice touch and works well with the low waisted pants/capris I wear. As expected, it's wool, so, naturally, it doesn't stink and neither will you. |

New favorite
03-01-07 ![]() |
This is my first wool performance base layer, so I was skeptical. I've always used synthetics. I wore it on a 3 hour mountain bike ride in cold weather...cold enough to see your breath. I usually get cold fast, but the even with the microfiber weight, I was fairly warm, with the exception of the first part of the downhill. At the end of the ride, the shirt was only slightly damp (the area that covers the back of my sports bra). It's now my favorite long sleeve jersey. I just wish the crew neck was a little larger. It was a tight fit getting my head through and I wear a small in bike helmets. Other than that, the fit is great. I hope Mountain Hardwear will make one with a zip-neck. |

Ultimate MTB chick shorts
08-21-06 ![]() |
These are the second pair of Unit shorts that I have.. for good reason. The cut is just right, not too long, not too short, not too tight or too baggy. The pockets are perfectly angled for on the ride accessibility. I've stashed all kinds of stuff in them on rides, including 2 oz Nalgene bottles for my drink powder. The vents actually work and let air through. There's ample padding, provided you have a great seat. These are my favorite MTB shorts. I've even worn it at the Downieville Classic XC race. |
