Fanny packs are user friendly; by pulling them around into "belly pack" position, you can access the contents while still wearing the pack. But most of them lack the capacity to store those extra layers you want to shed as the day warms up. Not this one; in daypack mode it will swallow up a fleece jacket and vest with room to spare. And it has pouches for water bottles. Light but well made. No complaints.

Not the warmest or most comfortable gloves I've ever owned, but having recently tweaked my wrist as the result of an ill-advised hand dab, I was looking for some serious protection, and I think I've found it; your wrist feels like it's in a cast. I haven't crash tested them yet though.

They work as advertised, providing gentle heat of surprisingly long duration. Using them every day would get a bit expensive and shouldn't be necessary if you have a decent pair of gloves or mittens, but they're a nice item to have along in case of exceptionally severe conditions.
