The photos looked really nice. When it arrived it just fit oddly. The upper arms were really tight and the lower arms were really loose. Unless you have arms like Popeye's, they will fit you weird. The upper chest area was baggy too. If your pectoral muscle is like a grapefruit attached to the area between your underarm and clavicle, these will fit you well. Normal people will wonder if something's wrong with the shape of their chest. But worst of all was the zipper. It pooches out really badly in two spots. The first is the area in front of your sternum. It makes you look like you have a rocket-bra over your uniboob in the center of your chest. The second spot looks like you have a baby-alien trying to burst out of your stomach. The two spots pop-out especially bad when you bend over like you're grabbing your handlebars. These won't fit most normally shaped humans. Cartoons or aliens maybe.

I bought these for mountain biking. I always prefer shorts without a chamois liner so I can wear the lycra shorts of my choice underneath. These shorts look great and seem durable and well made. But there's no room in the butt. I basically have no butt and it's still too tight to even wear chamois underwear underneath. It fits fine in the waist and length. So I obviously bought the right size. I didn't want to spend another $5 bucks to send them back, so I'll be using them as regular shorts to wear around town. Too bad. They'd have made nice looking biking shorts. I have a tiny butt and it was too tight for a chamois. So if you have a big butt or even an average butt, forget it.

I bought 2 of these for my wife and she loves them. She's always cold even in the summer, but she likes to wear slim fitting clothes. Normally that's a contradiction (slim and warm). These Icebreaker 260 crews fit the bill perfectly. She's 5'8", 120 lbs, 34B, with long arms and the small fit her just right. She usually complains sleeves are too short on most clothes. She also complains that when you bend over, shirts usually untuck and expose your lower back/tush to the cold. Not these. They are long enough in the arms and torso. Nice job Icebreaker.

I've had a pair of these for several years. They rock. Other brands seem to chafe badly. These don't. I've wrecked plenty of times and they stay in place and protect well. I do occasionally have to pull them up, but I have really skinny legs. They also get a little hot, but not as bad as some others. All armor gets hot. They're the best armor I've tried. I also have the arm guards.

I ordered 3 of these because of the good reviews here. Two came in as "Men's" socks and one came in as "Women's" (on the package) even though they are the exact same sock. Also, they are a little thinner than most midweight socks from other vendors. But the main reason for the low rating was because I think they are made wrong. Ski socks always have the thicker padding portion of the upper sock over the shin for leaning over the ski boot tongue. These we're made thicker over the calf for some odd reason and they're thinner over the shin. They were made wrong. I have other Bridgedale's and they are thicker over the shin.

I tried on a pair of 30's at a local store. They looked great. They fit everywhere except the waist. I needed a 31 but the store didn't have it in a 31. So I found my size here at Backcountry Outlet and bought a pair. When I tried the 31's on, it was REALLY tight in the butt. Especially the left bun. I thought that was really strange because the 30 I tried in the store fit fine in the butt. What made it even more odd is the fact that I basically have no butt. I only have tiny globules of steel that barely pass for a butt. I could understand if I had a big butt. I sent them back. I didn't even want to try another size 31 from Backcountry Outlet for fear that the whole production lot that they bought is bad. I didn't want to spend the big bucks repeatedly shipping boardshorts back and forth.
