Winter hammock camping with the Exped 7
01-26-06 ![]() |
After I received the Exped 7 and experimented with all of its functions, I took it on a two night backpacking trip to the Savage Gulf State Park in Tennessee. This was in January so I was eager to find out if it would help keep me warm in my hammock. It was great! It was easy to inflate and did not leak. I put it in a Neat-sheet similar to a Speer SPE and put it inside the hammock. The low temperature was only in the 40's but the wind was blowing up to 20 mph. I used a WM Megalite bag and, with the Exped, I was able to stay warm and toasty with only my capilene top and bottom. I am looking forward to my next trip where I hope the temperature is colder and I can find out more about the comfort range of the Exped. |
