Not Bad Not Great
01-20-06 ![]() |
This product has a lot of nice features, plus it’s easy to use and it looks cool. The compass works great and is very accurate. Two time zones on the clock are nice. What I don’t like is that some of the instruments are not very precise. The altimeter will fluctuate over long periods, even if you don’t gain/loose altitude. If the barometer is dropping that night, I wake up and my apartment is 30 meters lower than it was when I went to bed. This isn’t bad for a three-hour tour, but it sucks for a three-day backpacking trip. The barometer is a bit inconsistent as well. It does not accurately reflect the daily stats on the National Weather Service website. It is close, but rarely on the button. Overall, if you are a recreational day tripper and don’t require meticulous precision, this thing is great. But, if you are an expedition-grade mountain climber, or any other industry professional, I recommend finding something else. |

not even...
06-20-07 ![]() |
The pros. The suit looks pretty cool in the picture. The cons. The quality control is non-existent. My first one was missing buttons on the pants and jacket. I exchanged it. The second one had a big hole in the crotch and a hole in the jacket pocket. The tailoring is bad, I mean really bad, even for China. Seams coming apart right out of the bag. I returned the second and I'm not going for a third. The "free gift" glasses look like they came out of a gum ball machine. GOOD THING THIS SITE HAS SUCH A GREAT RETURN POLICY! They saved me from this bad purchase. You guys rock. |

Nice add on...
01-04-07 ![]() |
I use these liners under the Dakine Viper Gloves for biking in the winter. Its perfect down to about 0 degrees Celsius. Below that temp, they tend to get a little cold... When they say "lightweight", what they mean is ultralight. They are almost translucently thin when stretched over your hand. Its nice for wicking moisture, adding a hair of extra warmth, and preventing blisters (for you ice climbing types). If you are seeking lots of warmth, you might want a thicker model. |

Sweet little knife...
01-31-07 ![]() |
I received this little guy as a free gift at our company party, and I must say that I would have gladly paid for it. It is composed of top quality, high carbon stainless steel. I lost it in the snow in my back yard last winter where it remained for nearly 2 months till the snow melted. Much to my surprise, not a spot of rust anywhere on the unit. It stays sharp for long periods of time. It has a nice and secure locking system, plus a solid clip that will keep it in place. Great product, nice price. |

Just Ok
03-20-07 ![]() |
Pros: The still shots are pretty good for how small it is. Compact and water proof. Cons: It only records 1 MB of video at a time, so you have to keep pressing record every 15-20 seconds. The attachment system needs to be redesigned. The top strap tends to come off leaving the camera flapping on my wrist. Bottom Line: If you want a waterproof still camera, its ok. If you need it for action video/helmet cam, steer clear. You won't get very far down the trail before it shuts off. |

Great Pack for the $
09-16-08 ![]() |
Sure, you can get a better pack for 3 times the money, but this one does the job just fine while leaving cash in the budget for other essentials. The various fabrics are nice too, between the water tight top flap, the highly elastic side pockets, and the easy access sleeping bag compartment, this pack is well built. It carries comfortably as well; I have a "large" for me (6'1"- 165 lbs), and a "medium" for my wife (5'2"- 105 lbs). I load mine up to around 40 lbs, and hers to about 30 lbs. Both of us are very comfortable with it. Highly recommended for overnighters and light weekenders. |

A little disappointed...
08-05-08 ![]() |
Well, I was happy at first about the nice stainless bottle. However, on my first outing with these, the plastic part on the cap popped off while I was holding the bottle through the loop. The bottle dropped on the ground and now has a big dent on the side. These are supposed to be made for hanging the bottle by a carabiner, but after looking closer at all 4 bottles I purchased, they are not strong enough to hold a full bottle by the loop. Considering the high price of these bottles, they should be built better. |

Sweet

I really like the versatility of these shoes. I use them to hike, trail run, light climb, and just wear them casually. The sole is very grippy, and they are well made to last a long time. |

Pros and Cons

Pros- Very comfy from day one. Good support on the arch. Nice style. Quality leather and rubber... will not wear out fast. Cons- Avoid the "weed" color. It shows every molecule of dirt and debris from day one. |

Great Bag...
09-16-08 ![]() |
I'm writing this on behalf of the wife... she has been very happy with this bag thus far. We have been hit by some very cold nights recently, and she has been nice and cozy in the Marmot Trestles 15. The bag is very well constructed with solid seams, tough zippers, and good fabrics. I highly recommend this bag for 3 season use, you won't be disappointed. |

Nice little tent.
09-16-08 ![]() |
So far so good with this tent. It is nice and light, making it great for fair weather, 3-season duty. I doubt it would hold up in a blizzard, but then again, thats not what it was made for. The rain fly material does a good job at beading off moisture. If you are looking for a good overnight/weekend hiking tent, the Vector 22 is a great choice. Setup and takedown is a breeze, and the floor plan is enough for my 6'1" length. Perfect tent for the casual outdoor venturer. |

A rocket in my pocket...
09-16-08 ![]() |
I love this little tool. It is hard to ask for much more in a backpacking stove. Its tiny, reliable, light weight, easy to use, and affordable. I don't think there is much more that needs to be said. Its sweet, get one. |

New models are great...
08-18-08 ![]() |
I recently bought 4 of the new models in Black Eclipse and Green Moss. They have fixed the issues with the lids by making them one solid piece for tons more strength. They also stopped using those lousy stickers that you can never get the goo off from. The bottles look and function great. No bad taste whatsoever, and they seem very durable. 5 of 5 on this one. |

Good Cap

I have this pair and a thicker pair for colder days. Both are great; breathable, moisture-wicking, warm, and comfy. Patagonia Capilene is my favorite material of the synthetic undergarments. |

Bought these for the wife to hike in. She loves them. Nice, non-abrasive materials, breathes well, and light, yet durable. They fit well too... no flat horse butt here. I will likely buy another pair soon. |

| Skullcandy Smokin' Bud Headphones This product is no longer available |
Weak on sound quality...
07-11-07 ![]() |
They did a great job on style and comfort. However, the sound quality is quite poor. They claim to cover 100hz-17khz. This means that in reality bass rolls off near 150hz, and highs at 15khz; AKA-significant chunks of the sound spectrum are unaccounted for. Weak bass, lacking high end harmonics. Headphones should cover 20hz-20khz... even cheap ones. Therefore IMHO they are just OK. If its comfort you want get them, if its sound you want... don't. |

Just short of great.
06-12-07 ![]() |
Good job on the water removal system in the soles. Nice grip on rocks and soil. However, they could be a bit more comfortable on the bottom of my heel. I can somewhat feel the metal screen beneath the thin insert pad. Nonetheless, I wore them all day while hiking through rivers and canyons in Moab without any blisters. |

Great for the price...
01-24-07 ![]() |
This is not the brightest light in the lineup, however, I gave it a 5/5 because it is inexpensive, it works reliably, it is comfortable, well made, the batteries last a very long time, and it has 2 brightness options. For this price, what more can you expect. Great buy. |

Great gloves, just keep in mind...
01-04-07 ![]() |
These are definitely gloves for warm spring days. I bought mine for bike riding in the winter, and even with the Patagonia liners they are cold when its below 0 degrees Celsius. This is not to say that the gloves are not good. They are great for what they are designed to do. Nice look, nice feel, nice price. |

Very Nice But...
07-13-06 ![]() |
FYI... Ex Officio's sizing chart runs a little small. It states that the SMALL size is a 32 waist - men's. They were substantially smaller than that though. If you are on the borderline of sizes, go with a larger size... for me, the medium or "34" would have been better even though most of my other shorts are 32's. Other than that they are of very high quality, and I recommend them. |

$$$ WELL SPENT

These shorts rock. Light yet rugged. Fit well, yet they permit huge flexibility. You could do the splits in these if you were so inclined. Good for many applications - hiking, biking, climbing, or just wearing them 'cause they're cool. I Like! |

Sweet Trousers...
07-30-08 ![]() |
Bought a pair for the wife... she loves them. I will buy another soon. They are light yet tough. Comfy and breathable. Convertible to shorts without the crappy zipper thing on other convertibles. They fit nicely on her butt and hips as a bonus. 5 stars. |
