Outstanding Down Parka

My wife loves the Sub Zero. In 20 degree temps it feels like you're wearing a heater. Not tested in temps lower than the 20's. Fits into a stuff sack smaller than a loaf of bread. Highly recommended. |

U.L Super Stretch Hugger #1

Sleeping bag perfection. It's light. It stuffs down to the size of a loaf of bread. The "super stretch" means I can move my 6'5" legs in any direction and not be restricted. Mont Bell says the Long is good for up to 6'4". It works for me at 6'5". My favorite bag ever. |

Light as air
04-24-08 ![]() |
Light as air. In the stuff sack it takes up about as much space as a nerf football. The bag take up less than half the space of my North Face Cat's Meow synthetic. Used it in 20 degree temps, in an early October snow storm at 10,500 ft in the Sierras. It's clearly not meant for those conditions (my mistake in packing the wrong bag), but with most of my clothing on I had a comfortable night. |

Outstanding Bike Rack

Solid Rack. Easy to use. Carried 3 mountain bikes on rough jeep trails in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. On the jeep trails you see the bikes bouncing around in your rear view mirror, but the bikes stay very secure. Rack is officially not recommended for off road use but it held the bikes like a champ. |

Excellent Boot

Purchased for my wife who always complains of cold feet. She has put in about 15 hours (over a 3 day period) of hiking in the snow says they're the best winter boots she ever had. Comfortable, warm, waterproof, and supportive. No complaints. |

| The North Face Expander Panel This product is no longer available |
Comfort increased but so is size and weight of bag
02-27-06 ![]() |
The expander panel improves the comfort factor on cold nights where limbs hanging out of the bag would freeze. I'm 6'5", and I can now sleep comfortably moving my knees wherever I want with the bag fully zipped up. But, this already bulky synthetic bag now barely fits into my 6000cu in backpack. I am exaggerating, but this bag and panel combination is definitely not "light and fast". For summer use I will remove the panel and continue sleeping with one leg out of the bag. |
