Simple and to the point

I've worn these pants snowboarding, skiing, and on mountaineering routes. They are very waterproof, and seemed to breathe well enough, even when post holing up a 30 degree snow patch. They are a little wide in the leg, which is good if you're insulating under them, but I would have preferred a skinnier cut for skiing in warmer conditions. Overall though, an excellent pant at an excellent price. |

Excellent Technical Shell!

I bought this jacket hoping it would be a lightweight alternative to heavier Gore-Tex shells. Layered with a base layer and fleece underneath, I was warm and dry while skiing and boarding in the eastern sierras. It is plenty waterproof, and the Precip Plus fabric seems to be holding up well. Very breathable, another excellent product from Marmot. |

Good all arounder

I use this fleece for insulation when I'm active in cold weather. It's very soft, and pretty warm. I would say it's probably 100 weight. My only issue with it is that it doesn't breathe very well, but that's pretty much expected from a simple fleece jacket. If you sweat easily, maybe look at the full zip. Otherwise, it's a very good layer. |

The Swiss Army Knife of shells
01-06-06 ![]() |
This thing is truly a Swiss Army knife. It blocks wind and light rain, insulates, breathes, and is fitted so that it's easy to move around in. I bring this thing on every hike, climb, bike, or other adventure I go on. The only thing I was skeptical about when buying was the durability of the outer shell, but after groveling up quite a few Joshua Tree chimneys, the jacket barely has a scratch. And at 10oz, why wouldn't you carry it everywhere? |
