I first wore these shoes on an eighteen mile trail hike that turned into a trail run due to impending inclement weather. They were comfortable during the hike, and even still comfortable during the run. I wouldn't recommend them as trail running shoes because they are a bit heavy, but they do the job if needed. The shoe is generally wide. Luckily, I have a wide foot, but I am not sure how it would work out for people with narrow feet. Also, the sizing runs big, almost a whole size. I wear almost a size 10, and I purchased size 9, in which I still had a little extra room. Other than the sizing, this shoe is perfect for mild to moderate hiking!
