OK , but too bulky
02-07-06 ![]() |
The main problems that I had with this bag were its immense length (193cm), lack of padding, and inadequate compression straps. It is extremely bulky and awkward to carry around. I would only recommend this if your skis are around 190cm. It was far too big for my 174s, even with snow pants, jacket, helmet, goggles, poles, towels, gloves, and extra layers in the bag. The compression straps do little to help, and padding is almost nonexistent. The plus side is, it works well for two pairs of skis. |

Great Boot

This boot is really good at everything. It is part of Salomon’s race boot lineup, but it also makes a great freeride boot. Be careful though, the liner packs out slightly after 4 or 5 runs, so make sure they are extremely snug when you buy them. Other than that, these are flawless. |

Good at everything

I ordered a pair of B2s at 174cm. At first, I thought the 78mm waist would be a little wide for groomers and moguls, but these performed better than my old Salomons, which had a 71mm waist. I was very surprised at how well they performed in moguls. They are very stable in crud and never get deflected. The ride is very smooth and damp. They also had a decent hold in icy conditions. I haven't got a chance to test them in powder yet, but I'm sure they will do well. |

Best goggles I've used

I switched to these from an Oakley Wisdom because my lenses were destroyed and new lenses were as expensive as new goggles. I chose the Phenom because I get a discount through P.S.I.A. Peripheral and downward vision on the Smiths is much better than on my old Oakleys (probably because the Smiths have a more rectangular profile). The sensor mirror is great for flat light, and the gold is a great all-around lens. They haven't fogged up once so far, even after skiing from opening till closing at snowbird this spring when the temperature was really high and I was sweating profusely. Overall, the quality is excellent and the price is fair, so I would recommend them. |
