I love this jacket. It has kept me plenty warm in my cold maritime climate. There is one large flaw in the detailing of this jacket which caused me to return the first after only ten days. The velcro "hook" strip is sewn to a tab on the sleeve and as I walked the sharp corners of the velcro wore away the outer fabric at hip level. I have the replacement coat which Backcountry sent out asap (Thanks). When I noticed the same thing happening on this coat I fiqured out the problem and fixed it myself. I like the coat well enough, it really keeps me warm so I'll keep it but I wish Burton would upgrade the shell material to withstand such minor abrasions.
