Ready to wear
05-28-06 ![]() |
These jeans look great on and they were ready to wear right out of the package. They don't need to be broken-in, they're nicely weathered to make them soft and comfy from the start. I really like that they're cut stylishly but not so low that I have to fuss about plumber butt all day. |

Great design

I really dig the fabric of this skort, and it's fun to wear on mellow hikes or to the pub. It's a little short for going to work, but great for any weekend activity. |

I’m very stoked on this harness. I've spent a few hours in it at a time and it's always been comfy. Two friends have bought this harness based on my recommendation and they both thanked me for it. |

My favorite park ski, by far!
12-18-05 ![]() |
The Troublemakers are great park skis in addition to being great on groomers. They have less sidecut than some other park skis, so they track a little better on switch landings and takeoffs. I've been skiing the Troublemakers in the park and on groomers for the past 2 winters and I'll be on them again this season. I mounted the 175s flat (no lifters under the bindings) and 3cm forward from the line. Kickass. |

This jacket owns! Great materials and tech details.

Great venting. Great features up around your face and neck where they matter the most. The internal powder skirt is nice because you can button it closed down by your waist to keep the pow out, or even snap it onto the belt loops on Sessions pants to keep the pow out when you backslap that 20 foot cliff your friends make you jump off. |

Rocks are hard. Harder than your melon.
05-28-06 ![]() |
I wear a helmet skiing, so why not climbing, right? The half-dome feels good when it's on, because you don't notice it when it's on. It doesn't feel hot at all, because it's suspended off your head kind of like a hardhat. The size adjuster thing works really well. However, I'm deducting a point because the chin strap is a little finicky, and it also loses its adjustment if you strap the helmet to your pack for the approach. |

This bag is great.
08-11-06 ![]() |
The Timbuk2 Messenger-Style Computer Bag is roomy enough to hold my oversized laptop, with plenty of space leftover for notebooks, etc. The cell phone pockets on the sides are surprisingly secure, and keep the phone handy enough to pull out and answer on the fly. The strap adjusts really well, but I would recommend also buying the shoulder strap as an upgrade, as it's tough to position so that none of the buckles dig into your front, even when worn sling-style. Also, the padding on the back of the bag is exellent as it keeps stray books from shifting and poking you while riding. Buttes! |

If you like sport climbing, you'll love these quickdraws

Great keylock draws. After using these draws, I refuse to buy anything but keylock ‘biners and draws. Whether you're leading something gnar at your lead-limit, or you’re halfway up an easy lead of your 5th pitch of the day, you're going to appreciate the keylock. I rock these and the BD Posiwires, and by rock, I mean I use them to keep my scared ass from crashing back down to earth. |

Go Big Or Go Home
11-13-05 ![]() |
I've skied these bindings on both my park skis and my fat skis and I love them. Very solid engagement, excellent retention, completely bomber metal housing and that famous Look turntable heel. Also, while they do not yet come with fat brakes, the brakes *can* be bent out to fit on fat skis 97mm and narrower. If you need them to go fatter, it's possible to remove the brakes from the heel, straighten each arm, then rebend them. |

Very happy with this rope
11-03-06 ![]() |
I've been out a bunch of times with the 70 meter, and I love it. Good feel, good clipping and great thickness especially in the newer ATC Guide. As with all skinny ropes, I'd be wary of its ability to catch in Grigri type devices. |

Great shoe for my first year of climbing
05-28-06 ![]() |
Just started climbing real rock this year in Utah, and I'm really happy with these shoes. The fit is great. They feel very locked on to my feet from heel to toe. Sticky rubber that looks like it's going to last, too. Laces let me tighten up the toebox a little bit on my left foot (which is smaller than my right) too, which is a bonus. If I had to do it over again, I'd still get these shoes. I think that says it all. |

I love the Prodigys. They have a larger fit than the Fuse and the lens choices are even better than last year. They fit my Giro helmet no problem, and I will admit that the hop-up kits are kind of cool. I like the platinum mirror lens for the brightest days and the sensor mirror for storm skiing or really flat light. |

Damn fine draws!
05-28-06 ![]() |
These draws are awesome. Keylock and wiregate, the two great tastes that taste great together! The keylock biner comes off your gearloop first try every time for easy clipping on lead. The wiregate biner saves some weight and is impervious to gate lash in the event of a big whipper. Get some. |

If you climb like I do, you have to deal with a lot of terror sweat. So I need chalk, and lots of it. This is good chalk. Creamy, delicious, the color goes with everything. What else can I say? |

Order one size smaller than you think.

I bought a size Small, and it was one size too big. That's surprising considering I wear a Small or Medium in other Dakine gloves, including the Bronco GT. |

Great chalk bag. It's big and holds a lot of chalk. My bad-ass climbing friends said this when they saw it, "Oh, you got the *good* one. Nice choice." |

WoW!
05-28-06 ![]() |
This jacket is REALLY nice. It’s definitely not cheap, but so lightweight that it feels like there is a water repelling force-field around you. The orange is a great color. I did note the lack of hand pockets, but it was actually kind of nice because I usually put so much crap in those pockets they're annoying and jingly. The one pocket is enough for a few bucks and keys if necessary. |

Kitchen chairs do not make good tuning vices.
12-18-05 ![]() |
But these badboys do. The top surfaces are covered with a thick, grippy rubber. I was initially a little concerned about how well it would hold my skis in place, but they work out fine. The system that holds the binding brakes also pulls the ski down against the vice towers, keeping the ski in place. It works very well and you can adjust the sizing to fit any of your skis. |

If you like awesome skis, you'll love these skis
12-18-05 ![]() |
I agree with the other reviews: This is a kick ass ski that doesn't take any prisoners. Stiff, fat and minimal sidecut; it takes a strong skier to drive the Legend Pros. Mount the 186s around 79cm from the tail of the ski (with the tape measure pushed down into the curve of the tail) if you ski much powder. But be aware, these are not the floatiest skis due to how stiff they are. These skis definitely crush it. Get Some! |

| Marmot Hydrogen Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down This product is no longer available |
Carries light and packs down well, I dig it!
08-12-05 ![]() |
The first thing I noticed about the Marmot Hydrogen Sleeping Bag I had just purchased was how incredibly light it was, a measly 1lb 5oz. Upon receiving my bag from the nice deliveryman I was wondering if anything were even in the box it was so light. The stuff size is quite small as well, about the size of a football. The first trip with this bag was spent in Utah's Uinta Mountains on a trek to summit Kings Peak. The nights were cold, below the 30F rating on the bag, and I stayed plenty warm. Only complaints would be that the zipper is only half-length which can make it difficult to get in and out of. I guess that saves some weight. Other than that it's a great bag and I'm happy with the purchase and the weight off my back. |

I use the toothy side for lead belaying climbers heavier than I am, or for rappelling on skinnier ropes. Got a fatter rope, or a skinnier climber to belay, go for the toothless side. Love it! |

If I catch you and your chuckle-headed, 32-ounce-Monster-Energy-Drink-guzzling, 5.8 beta-spraying crew lowering off toprope laps through the chains while belaying with this thing, I'm going to punch you (all) right in the bread-basket. Don't know where the "bread-basket" is located on a person? You'll find out. |
