This unit works great if you simply need to boil water for something or just boil something. If your meal needs cooking for anything over a couple of minutes (like 1 or 2) or simmering at all, you will need an additional cooking method. I love the JetBoil for really quick heating of water for coffee, tea, cocoa, oatmeal but you have to understand that it "cooks" really hot and really fast so you will need to think "boil" when you are planning your meals.
