Good purchase. No problems on a week-long backcountry trip and I would much rather carry this little pump than lug the full water supply which, due to the load on our shoulders, approached a gallon a day per person not including AM and PM meals. Operation is smooth, speed reasonable, not much power needed. Taste was great, but I would not have expected much else from the crystal clear springs of the Rockies. Can't comment on the water quality of the murkier sources. Also don't know if the filter would have clogged up more with dirtier water. As it was, pumping 4+ liters of water a day did not clog the filter appreciably. Great help in the wilderness!
