I bought these for my hike on the Inca Trail (Machu Picchu). I did use them once during a downpour, they did not make me sweaty and kept me dry. Perhaps even better proof of this technology is when I threw them on after going to the Aguas Calientes Hot Springs. My legs were wet and they initially stuck to me but within two minutes of wearing them I was completely dry! I couldn't believe they worked in the reverse as well. That is true breathability!
