comfy and a little wide
04-06-07 ![]() |
These shoes are very comfortable but they are a little wide in the toe box. I have pretty narrow feet but I got the same size as my mythos (39.5) and they are still a little wide in the toe box and when my feet sweat, they slide around a little more than I'd like. I think part of the problem might also be that I can't tighten the toe box like I can on my mythos due to only having the velcro. All in all I feel like it was a good purchase for the price. |

solid, lightweight pants
05-02-08 ![]() |
I just ordered my second pair of these after owning a pair for about 3 years. I really like these pants and almost always wear them when I am backpacking because of how lightweight they are. Over the years of backpacking through brush and scrambling over rocks several holes developed though they weren't that big and I just patched them with some repair tape and it sticks to the fabric of the pants extremely well; I've washed them probably ten times since putting the patches on and they are still adhering really well. My only gripe about the pants is that where the zipper comes together at the bottom of the pant legs there is about an inch left where there is a slit so you don't have a solid cuff which is great for putting over boots but it doesn't look so great if you're trying to wear them as casual travel pants with regular shoes or dress shoes. |

not the greatest coverage

These glasses are definitely some of the best I've ever had in terms of fitting the width of my face but the lenses are very small vertically and don't give me a lot of coverage on the bottom part. While walking over snow there is definitely a lot of reflection that gets under the glasses and I can imagine the same would be true of fishing with light reflecting off the water. |

not reach high sleeves
09-22-07 ![]() |
Check it. This jacket seems pretty sweet (I just got it today) but there are some drawbacks. The articulated elbows are almost too articulated because if your arm is extended backwards, like when cross country skiing, it's going against the articulation of the jacket and it's doesn't really hinder you from making the motion it just feels like you're pulling on the fabric. The biggest complaint for me is that the sleeves are not very accommodating when you are trying to reach upwards. It's actually more a problem of the bottom of the jacket riding up super high, almost to the bottom of my ribcage when I reach up as high as I can with both arms. It falls back down to your waist when you bring your arm down because it is loose enough but it should not ride up that high especially if it is marketed as having "reach-high sleeves." The good things about this jacket are the great styling, and the fleece on the inside is perfect. It is soft but not too soft, and fairly thick but not super thick. As another comment about fit, the jacket is roomier than might be assumed from the description. I could easily fit a 100 weight fleece under this. |

seems okay, some complaints
09-22-07 ![]() |
I just got this jacket today and although I think it would be a decent jacket, it's not quite what I'm looking for. The fit is definitely snug and the arm holes fit tightly but comfortably around the wrist. One thing I don't like so much about it is that it seems like there is too much fabric (i.e. too long) on the neck extending to the hood so that it bunches it up some. It's not a huge deal but if wanted to have the hood on and the jacket zipped all the way up, it would be a little uncomfy. The other complaint is that I wish there was a little bit more articulation in the arms because if you reach up high, the waist pulls up and it is tight enough around the waist that it won't fall back down unless you pull it down. Other than those two things it seems like a solid jacket and the styling is awesome. |

not breathable
11-08-07 ![]() |
This jacket/vest is not even close to being breathable. In all fairness, it doesn't claim to be breathable but even on flat terrain when you're not even working that hard, you soak the inside of the jacket pretty quickly. The feature that allows you to change from a jacket to a vest is pretty cool and pretty easy and quick to do. I pretty much only wear the vest and use it as my safety vest since it's bright yellow. One of the magnets in the jacket is right on the back of the collar where you would hang a jacket and if you have a magnetic surface you can hang it from that with no hooks and it looks sweet. |
