The best

As a mountaineer, packing in with a lot of "hardware", I bought the Hyperlight because it is about 2lb lighter than any comparable tent. The indicated square footage (a diagram dimensions) appears to be from the Hyperlight 3. Actual is 37sq ft, which is reasonably sized for two average, thin mountaineers and some gear. Foot area is narrow for two pads, so I cut down my pad. A fantastic tent, and backcountry has a fantastic price for such a premium quality tent. |

Hyperlight is the BEST

Hyperlight tents maximize functional space and weight; isn’t that what we're all looking for? The floor plan is both lower and narrower in the foot area to save weight. This makes the typical rectangular sleeping pads problematic. My adaptation was to use scissors to trim down a standard blue-foam pad to a mummy shape. This enables efficient use of the foot space without overlapping the pads. I found previous comments complaining about mosquitoes under the fly but outside the tent to be laughable. THIS IS A TENT! My whole point is that in comparison with any other tent on the market this tent has the largest sq. ft. to price ratio, and is very reasonably price. |
