Scarpa T1

Now that I've had a chance to ski the boots about 20 days, I can report that the T1s with thermo liners rock. I previously had T1s with regular liners. The fit with thermo liners is excellent, and I still love the smooth bellow flex of Scarpa boots. One negative: I don't understand why Scarpa increased the width of the shell heel. It's a pain to get the G3 binding cables past the heel (old T1s have a much narrower shell heel). Molding thermo liners, remember you need to heat and mold the thermo liners to your feet. Scarpa told me I shouldn't do it myself. |

I've put 20 days on the skis since I bought them in mid Feb (Squaw/Tahoe). Great all around ski - wonderful in pow, cut up, spring mush, even works in bumps. They are surprisingly quick considering its 84mm underfoot. I agree with the other reviewer that it may not be the best carving ski in the world (despite what Couloir says) - it could be my getting used to the extra girth but ripping carved turns on hard pack was far easier on my TM-22s. But all in all, I'm having fun on them, and would recommend them to western freeheelers. |
