G`ood value, good function

I wore the The North Face Redpoint vest out in a light drizzle with my sons for a few hours. Temp was about 40-45F and a bit windy. My core warmth was fine. The drizzle shook right off and did not penetrate. I didn't feel the breeze either. the fit was trim but not restricting. I'm 6ft and 242lb. The XL is a good fit overall. I like this thing, light weight, and not puffy like a down vest. I think it would do well in temps from the mid 30's. |

rain/wind/cold,no problem

I live in ga. just got this in time for 4 days of rain, 25 degree temps, and wind chills of 15 degrees. Got this on your rec. glad I did. This thing handles it all. I only wore a light short sleeve rugby jersey, was outside for 30-40 minutes at time and was dry and toasty every time. I keep getting rubber neckers checking this jacket out in town too. Zipped into my shell a lot smoother than the salathe I have, and getting in and out of them together is way easier. Can't wait to need to use them together (rate 12 if they make it w/ a hood, and it zips into my summit series shell. This is going to Co. w/ me every year. thanks for a great pick-up . X- mas week is going to be low 40's and mid 20's. I can't wait. Thanks for these reviews,it helps to get some feedback on products b-4 I buy online. |

Apex , "O" wind,and toasty too!

I just got my new Apex Bionic in time to go to a rugby tournament in N.M. The morning temp was 42F, and wind was blowing across the field strong all day. I slipped the Bionic on and was toasty, and I felt no wind at all. I mean ZERO! I watched as people were in thick fleece and a blanket wrapped around them huddling together to block the wind. I just chuckled inside and stood there with no problems. I also used it during pre-game warm ups and didn't get overheated at all. It was just right. This is my new all-around jacket. |

many uses for a light shirt/jacket
10-24-06 ![]() |
I wore this in Aspen last month at ruggerfest under a Marmot Oracle in rain and 45 degrees. Good warmth and lightweight. I used it to walk around town at night, and it was great. Cut wind, but didn't overheat inside the bars . XL fits trim but allows for movement(I am 6', 240lbs). Looks good too. I also wore this as a next-to-skin layer after rugby training in GA this week (windy and 36 degrees). Loved it. This piece has multiple uses. It will not work as an outer layer in very cold temps. It is a shirt. Works well for what it's designed for though. Nice job Marmot. Good service from Q&A to delivery. Thanks... |

3 -4 -1, what a deal

I got the Red Point for a single warm layer at first. TOASTY! I didn't realize at the time that it also has great wind blocking properties and is very light weight...BONUS ! But the real jewel of this performance jacket is when I zip it into my shell, it doesn’t bunch like regular fleece. This is the best combination of warmth and comfort with the lowest bulk yet. Thanks for the live QandA, I'm glad I followed your advice. |

great for bus stops@ 7a.m. and more

Got my 1st grade son this as an early xmas present for good school work. In Ga. the morning temps of 20-25,and wind were freezing my son @ the bus stop in a The North Face Denali. He loves the pullover. W/ the nylon side out, blocks wind and really warm. He doesn't over heat on the playground either. The snaps make it easy to vent,or bundle up.He,his little brother& his mates plays rough tackle soccer/football. This thing is seemingly scuff proof. When it is pouring rain and cold he slips on a shell and is really toasty.layers good too. A base layer,a long sleeve T, and this retro pullover is all he has needed this winter. When I saw it was on sale recently ($40 less than the Patagonia store site)I snapped up the last XL blue you had. He won't need it for two years. Just in time for his brother to inherit this one. I have no doubt it will last. I didn't tell him it is reversible, he thinks he has a "secret" pocket to stash stuff in. great buy. a real 3 season pullover for active kids. thanks......Nathan's dad. |
