I was looking for poles that weren't too expensive. So, I considered these kids' poles. I just backpacked the Grand Canyon with them (rim to river to rim), and they were everything I hoped for! My hands got sweaty, but didn't slide all over the handles. And most importantly, the poles held up, even with the Rocky terrain of the canyon and the weight of my 120lb body and 40lb pack. I'm just 5'1" and they were plenty long enough for me. I would recommend these to any small woman!
