I am gradually growing to love my Recon Jacket. Although I found the pitzips very stiff and uncomfortable when I tried it on, they seem to be softening up as I wear it. The customer service person and I thought maybe the jacket was too big, so I sent for a size smaller, but that one was too tight with a fleece liner. I'm back to a size maybe slightly too big. I love everything else about the jacket: no Velcro to catch my hair (except inside the hood cover where it doesn't bother me); no snaps on the collar to catch my hair; no obvious taped seams that will wear out along the edges; and so far it seems waterproof. Good hand pockets, and one in the chest for my camera, plus another for keys; I'm happy that none of the pockets are net since those are pretty much useless. As a matter of fact, I'm happy the jacket is not mesh lined. I wonder how the shoulders will last since the reinforcement materials seem to be everywhere else, but I think having no seams on the shoulders will help. This winter will be the test, as I ski with a backpack almost every day.

The Terminal was perfect for my recent trip to Europe. My laptop was easily removed for security checks, the straps and belt were comfortable, and I had plenty of room for my carry-on odds and ends plus some clothes. I used the glasses pocket on top for my extra glasses plus all my receipts. I think the CD pocket on the side would be dangerous for CDs, but it was perfect for checkbooks and notebooks. The water bottle pocket was a necessity. I think the pack might be too big for someone much smaller than me (I'm a 5'4" female), but I loved it.
