I really like this headlamp a lot. The two outer LEDs provide a nice flood-type light for when you're just around your campsite or when you're spelunking in some tight passages. The focused beam on the other hand offers an intense beam that goes quite a ways. This beam is really nice for trekking in the middle of the night or for caving and seeing what's way ahead of you. I like it, but on the other hand, I've never used any other type than LEDs so take it for what it's worth. Oh, and I never have to replace my bulb... cause it's an LED!

This is a nice headlamp. It's relatively cheap and provides over 100 hours of use before the batteries need replacing. I bought it because this was the lamp Mammoth Cave issued to it's Wild Cave tour-goers. It provides a very nice floodlight, however if you're looking for anything that remotely resembles a beam or if you get scared easily in the middle of the night, look for another lamp. The Zenix by Bdel provides a nice beam with their focused LED and still gives quite a few hours of use with 3 AAA's and also includes two LEDs for floodlighting.
