Pass on the Patagucci please...   07-02-09

Did I seriously just get this for 5 0 bucks? Sizing- I'm 6'4 180 and yes it fits great in Large. Sleeves are long enough and the waist is a little short but only by maybe an inch. Not light like a western mountaineering but I think it's purpose is purely warmth. Construction is high quality. The chest pocket is enormous, the interior pocket is good sized and the hand pockets are adequate when not wearing huge gloves. The coat is more attractive in person than it is on the website. The interior is red. Wrist bands are comfortable, not too tight nor too loose. Collar zips up to chin. Soft and puffy all around. Warm! Tested it in a walk-in deep freezer for an extended period and was comfortable. Ordered on tuesday, received on thursday with free shipping. Backcountry beats moosejaw like they're their dad!

Yep, it's sick!   07-10-09

My stats: 6'4, 185. This thing is a deal at the SAC price. Repels water like dolphins arse! Breathes like Lance Armstrong and looks cooler than an antarctic morning (provided you get the gray one). Fit is form fitting. at my size I chose the XL so I can layer in it during winter. As a 3 season jacket I could have gone with a L but XL still fits my size great, not swimming in the waist or hips. Pit zips, body length, sleeve length, collar height, pockets and hood are all about perfectomundo. Arcteryx schmarcteryx, I like thos one. Complaints? Uh, more colors please.
