thankfully, before i ordered them, i went to a local store and tried these pants on. the other reviewers are correct---they are very unflattering and i don't think that they seem as well made as some of the other brands i've now checked into. i thought they looked very "mannish" on me and not exactly as comfortable as what i prefer for hiking. still looking for the perfect convertible pant.....

very cute shorts. very well made. shorts are long and waist is what i would call a mid-rise (just above the top of the hip bones.) there is a small metal Oakley logo on the back pocket which was not in the description when i ordered them (i needed something with no metal parts) however the flap it is on can be tucked into the pocket below or it looks as though it would be pretty simple to pry off. the fit through the waist and hips is a little strange---large at the top and tight around the lower hips and bottom. when i ordered them, i ordered one size up and i guess that is why the waist is too big, but if i had ordered my normal size, they would have been too tight in the rear. i can make it work though; i will probably just have the waist taken in a little bit.

this matches the oakley tanker boardshorts...i got the linen/orange rashguard and the orange juice floral shorts---very cute, very well made ensemble. the top is see-through when wet...just wear a padded bikini top or padded sports bra. the rashguard is long and not extremely tight. it does ride up a little bit and there is nothing to attach them to your boardshorts with---that is my only complaint.
