The helmet works great at keeping my head warm. I have yet to truly test it out by smacking my head so I can't exactly report on that. The M2 system is a great addition and keeps the helmet snuggly on my noggen. The closing vents are nice. One complaint would be that not all vents close--and on a cold windy day, an extra layer under it is needed.
