Make no mistake, hiking with the lightest shoes possible is the only way to go. Heavy hiking boots are WAY overkill. I used these babys two + weeks on the John Muir Trail last summer. No blisters, no wear on the shoes, and happy legs because the shoes are so light. Now I use them as approach shoes for climbing, hiking shoes, even for riding the bike in the gym. After one year, the sole is starting to disappear, but for 85 bucks, I sure feel like I got my money's worth. Get 'em for sure.
