Great Pack
03-24-09 ![]() |
I just got this pack, I bought it as a day pack and to carry my snow shoes. I took it out for the first time on a snow shoeing trip this weekend. It expanded pretty well, and I was able to keep all of my over night things in it which was really nice, I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I also went on this trip with a youth group I work with and two of the young ladies couldn't walk in their snow shoes, or carry them so I strapped their snow shoes (along with mine) to the back of the pack. Aside from the five miles of snow packed hard snow and three pairs of snow shoes on my back, the pack was a life saver and held up really well!! I really like this pack, and being made out of 34 recycled bottles is a plus too! It would be nice if it had a pocket on the outside to put my water bottle in, but there is a slot for my camel back bladder, so it kind of works itself out! |

Snowshoes are nice
03-30-09 ![]() |
I received this kit a while back as a gift, I was very anxious to get some snow here in Colorado so I could try them out, and this weekend was PERFECT!! The actual snow shoes are pretty nice, I really like the color and size, they are perfect for a woman! Other then that I find them kind of hard to tighten and put on. The strap in the back does not stay latched and pulling the straps in the front to tighten them around your foot can be a struggle, and something that needs constant attention. Once they are put on correctly and fastened, they worked just fine, we went hiking in about 2ft. of fresh powder (with a base of about 50-70in) and they held up just as good as my boyfriends heavy duty snow shoes. As far as the rest of the kit, the gators were a bit too small for me. Granted my calf's are huge, I couldn't get them to close around my whole leg, so now I just have a pair of gators that don't fit, and that really sucks. The poles were trouble too, they came with snow baskets for the bottom of the pole that I had to put on myself. No one could get the cap off the bottom of the pole to put the baskets on (even the guy at the ski shop) so we ended up having to cut them off, but after that we were able to get them on and the poles worked great!! All-in-all, for the price, $150 for snow shoes, gator's, and poles, it was a pretty good deal! |

Great Jacket

I really enjoy this jacket. It is super super warm, in fact sometimes it can be a bit warm. I have only been snowshoeing in it, and it has kept me nice and cozy. It is also very good for around the town, I wear it on my bike and it keeps me warm and protected from the wind! Love this jacket! |
