10-12 degrees might be generous. I used these gloves on the slopes this past weekend and they were a great thermometer for me. When the temp dropped below 20 my fingers got cold. Anything above that and these were warm and toasty. If you plan to use a liner under these gloves, size up. My fingers are around the 7.5" mark and I bought a Large. These gloves were a perfect fit at this size, but there is no chance I could fit even the thinnest liner underneath them.
