Excellent softshell

For me, this is a do-it-all softshell. The fit is perfect, layers nicely under technical shells (Marmot, Oakley) and work jackets (Carhartt). It's clean and simple, warm, definitely stops cold, biting wind, breathable enough to be comfortable across a wide range of activity, and not too bulky. The materials are strong, durable and abrasion resistant. Won't pill or be a lint magnet like many fleeces. Very well made. And, while I'm not a fashion-ista, it looks nice enough to receive compliments :) Downside? It 'aint cheap. |

Nice jacket

Bought this because I wanted a technical shell that didn't look overly technical. Style and color (black) make it suitable to wear in a variety of settings - got it on sale too, so overall value is excellent. As for functionality, the fit is a tad bigger than my same size Marmot shells, which makes layering more comfortable. I'm not convinced the front vents on the shoulders work that well, but the back vents worked surprisingly well. Was disappointed in Oakley quality - sent one jacket back due to shoddy stitching, one I stayed with has a tiny bit of seam tape coming loose (sold out, can't replace it with another). That said, I'm happy with the jacket at sale price. However, it's not in the same bomb-proof class as my Marmot, MH or Ernesto (sadly no longer made) gear. |
