Leaking Pants
11-21-08 ![]() |
These pants were really disappointing. I have lots of MH stuff, but after getting these really cheap at the end of the season, am very disappointed. I just used them for the first time, and even though it's Rai****, these pants leaked terribly. I got really wet on my bum. The pants seem strong, but I already have a pull on my left leg. Bottom zipper and snap are good, and kept snow out, but would not recommend these unless you seriously waterproofed them or wore gaiters underneath. Color's nice though. |

Durable & Cheap!
11-26-08 ![]() |
I had a pair of gloves 2x the price that were nothing on these. They are comfortable, and really provide excellent traction on rope and equipment. Dirty, wet, or dusty ropes are no problem for these. I haven't washed them yet, so I don't know how much grip or security I will loose, but for the price, I'm really pleased. |

Bag Rocks!
11-21-08 ![]() |
Good padding! Provides plenty of room for most sizes of boards. Can even fit some accessories. Would recommend stuffing some of those fleeces into it, especially when flying to provide extra support and protection. Even fits two pairs of skis if need be. Made of what seems to be highly durable material, as mine got dirty, but then came right clean after washing it. Highly Recommended. |

Awsome!
11-25-08 ![]() |
These are the best snow-shoes I have ever put on. Have used them twice so far-Once near Lake Placid on some very crusty hard pack, and the other time up in Canada on some very fresh soft powder. Provided excellent traction on both. Really comfortable, lightweight, and sure-foot grip. No negatives at all, except for price! |

Amazing, Plain & Simple
12-02-08 ![]() |
I keep these in my first-aid kit. I also keep them in my office, car, and at home. They are great, not only for trail scrapes, but for minor cuts (including those nasty paper cuts), rashes, and any type of nasty skin condition that's relatively minor and which can use some protection. If you are not into band aids, these are a great alternative. Really helps soothe and limit inflammation. Highly recommended. |

Peels after a while
11-29-08 ![]() |
I got this tape for a spare bike I don't use too much, and which I keep in a weatherproof outdoor shed. I put on the tape and was really impressed. After a few months though noticed the tape cracking. It wasn't even winter! I should write the company for a refund! Not recommended unless this was just a fluke or a bad batch. |

Great School/Travel Notebag
11-28-08 ![]() |
This bag is really not designed for the backcountry or for heavy travel. It's great for city or cit-suburban travel. I bought the bag to carry books, a computer, papers, and daytime things (brown bag lunch, tissues, etc.) and it has been amazing. The fold over snaps keep the lid secure, and the outer material is a heavyweight and durable synthetic. The bag has many pockets that easily store and organize everything you might be carrying. The shoulder strap is really comfortable, and feels quite secure. This is great as a school bag, work bag, or for daytime use. |

Simple Bag
11-26-08 ![]() |
This bag has a cool color and simple pattern. I bought it for a friend who always complains about having stinky ski clothing in their suitcase. Unfortunately, this really is just a simple laundry bag. It apparently did not help to control or eliminate clothing odors. I would recommend buying a bag specifically designed for odor control, if that is what you are looking for. If you are looking for a simple (but nicely colored) bag, then this is for you. |

Good Product
11-25-08 ![]() |
This is the type of thing you never hope to need, but should always have in your kit. This is a really light-weight splint that is easy to transport, and useful when needed. Really useful for emergency splint needs where traditional splints would be too difficult to use or transport. Great for those long hikes, backcountry travel, and anytime when your out away from society. Makes putting two sticks together seem archaic. |

Works Great
11-25-08 ![]() |
This set is great. It easily converts wattage from standard US/North American wattage to international. I have used this set repeatedly, and have been pleased every time. The adapters fit most appliances and wall sockets, and the main converter works with most small to medium plug-ins. After numerous trips the equipment still looks new. There were no chemical or "burnt rubber" smells with this unit, unlike others I have tried. |

Simple to use. Just plug into an outlet, then plug your device in. As simple as that. Nothing too difficult. I have a few, and they have performed flawlessly on several trips. Look brand new even after traveling in the bottom of my bags. |

Strong Bag
11-22-08 ![]() |
This bag isn't too flashy, but really stands up well to abuse. Has a very strong outer material, (I think nylon), that keeps stains, dirt, even small amounts of water away. While it's not waterproof, at this price it is a great value just to keep your dirty clothing, or bulky sweaters in. Reccomended. |

Bit Dissapointed
11-20-08 ![]() |
This pillow is comfortable, but to be honest, is nothing special over other microfiber pillows I have had. The pillow sagged after a couple nights use, and really was hard to get into that "comfortable groove." Would not recommend over other microfiber pillows. If traveling, would highly recommend either memory foam, or latex foam which provides excellent support, comfort, and which retains its shape, even when stuffed into a suitcase. |

Super Grip
11-20-08 ![]() |
These tires offer excellent traction. On wet, slushy roads they performed alright to acceptable to me, however on rocks, dirt, and on sandy/rocky soils they outperformed compared to other brand tires I have had before. Would recommend for dry to moderate wet surfaces, would not recommend for heavy water conditions or mud. Overall a great deal on a great traction tire. |

Read my review for the full-size cube. This ones a bit smaller, and a bit less practical, but almost just as useful. Fits into an average to small suitcase, but wont fit into all those tiny suitcases people bring into airplane cabins. Helps keep things from getting wrinkled. Helps organize gloves, liners, and socks too! |

Nothing Bad
01-15-09 ![]() |
There is almost nothing bad I can write about this glove. It is super warm, and is very comfortable. Washes nice, especially after sweating for hours on end. Great for skiing, winter sports, and general-duty outdoor work. Fingers are a bit hard to move outside, but this is nothing new with good winter gloves. They look cool too! As mentioned by another reviewer, these are not expedition gloves for multiple-day, 8000m peaks! Good for regular-duty and even heavy duty, but not for extreme adventurers. |

My wife bought these and they came scratched. When we went to re-purchase them, they were sold out in her color. They seemed easy to scratch. Wy wife felt they looked nice, and she maintains they felt good on her face, while providing nice coverage. It's a shame they scratched so easily. |

Great Product but Easily Damaged
12-02-08 ![]() |
I had this altimeter, and was very happy with it. It was spot-on accurate, easy to use, and really looked nice on my bag during trips. It broke however after about 6 months after purchase, on maybe my tenth or eleventh trip with it, not by falling down a mountain or getting knocked around on a hike, but by hanging on the back of my pack during a long ski day in Maine on a ridiculously cold day. Beware-don't bring this into -20 temps! |

Great for emergencies
11-29-08 ![]() |
This stuff works super fast to seal holes and get you back on the road. Although it is small and lightweight, you sometimes need to pack a lot of this in to get good sealing. I have found however that regular car sealant for car tires works the same, though many would disagree with this. Does require a permanent sealing when you can get the job done right. This is a great product for emergencies to keep in an emergency bag however. |

This bad boy is awesome. Really light, easy to install if you do this stuff enough, and super powerful. Good ratio between your top and bottom gears. I have only had very smooth transitioning between gears, with very little kick-back if I shift too quickly. Highly recommended but pricey, especially for a shimano crankset system. |

Puncture "Insurance"
11-29-08 ![]() |
This stuff does work! I bought a bottle of this for "emergency" purposes, and tested it out to see if it really worked. It does. Goes in through the valve stem in a pinch, and sets quickly. It will quickly fix a tire, and get you going. It however leaves your tires out-of-plum, and generally calls for them to be replaced anyways. This just prevents you from getting caught out in the middle of nowhere. Worth keeping in that emergency bag. |

This is a very lightweight, soft, and cozy blanket. It really helps make a trip more comfortable. The blanket is light, very light however-so you still need to wear a sweater or other warm clothing underneath. My niece found this, and now adores it too. Seems to be a great baby blanket. Has held up well after numerous washings, and has not piled. |

I had an old Toko grinding stone, and bought this one when I lost my old one. Works very well. Doesn't crack or peel off too much, and got my bases and edges nice and smooth. Removed those rusty spots really well. Also great to soothe out nicks and burs in those edges. Did not stain my skis like some of those dyed stones do. |

Works Well
11-25-08 ![]() |
This stuff really removes wax well. I would recommend for most skis and boards. Clean your bases first with a base cleaner, than use this stuff to strip the wax. Just don't do this right after your skis or boards come off the hill. This stuff works better when everything is nice and toasty warm. Good product overall. Does smell a bit. |

These really clean up those dirty, rusty bases. I had to use this a couple times after I put away my skis last season. Overall though, works great. These are great baskets. They really push off, even on really light Utah fluff. Not as great on very hard pack, ice, or crud. Recommended for the American West, not for the East. Fit's my BD back country poles easily, and slides right on. Great as a replacement for those nicked and worn baskets. |

This worked as advertised, and as expected. It's a bit pricey however, and really did not seem to be any more effective than any other standard balm or lotion. Cannot tell you how it was against UVA/B rays, but again, I don't know if the price really justifies the purchase. |

Really bright
11-25-08 ![]() |
Great headlamp. Comfortable to wear, and very bright. I was a bit surprised by this light when I turned it on. Compared to some of my previous Black Diamond's this one is right up there and compared to some models, even brighter than them. It's of average weight with the four batteries, however I think this would be really heavy and even uncomfortable with the attached C batteries. The regular batteries last quite long. My only complaint is with the focus of the light. It is somewhat of a narrow beam, so if you are looking for a wider beam for night-hiking this might not be the perfect light for you. Great for cave explorers. |

Just OK
11-25-08 ![]() |
I have owned other Kelty bags, and I am a bit disappointed with this one. The material/workmanship is a bit less secure than in other bags. After just two or three short trips, it is already showing signs of wear by the handles. The bag has alot of storage space, but I would caution anyone from filling it fully, as an airplane might not let you bring it on board. It is lightweight and good for travel in the winter to ski destinations. Fits a good few sweaters, pair of boots, some accessories, and things like hats and gloves for a trip, quite easily. Would recommend either another Kelty bag, or another brand however, especially considering this bags high price. |

This is the best eye mask I have had to date. It really is comfortable to wear unlike other masks that can have a string which digs into your face, or which may slip off during use. This is an excellent lock. I bought it to lock my skis, poles, and equipment at ski resorts. The flexible cord easily goes around all of these, and secures my equipment tightly to prevent theft. This lock is also great as a substitute to other bulkier locks, especially for luggage or on the go, such as when you leave your luggage for temporary storage. Easy to control combo control. Cord is a bit thin though for more permanent storage. |

Seems Good

I didn't buy this, but just used one a friend of mine owns, and let me borrow. It inflated easily, and seemed stable in the water. It did not feel as sturdy as a non-inflatable, but I used it in class 2 and it held up just fine. It doesn't have many of the luxuries of a non-inflatable, and it did get me wet, even in only minor waves. Thus, I feel this is a good product for its class, but I wasn't really impressed. |

Swiss army knives are great. They are reliable, and if maintained perform well for many years. This knife has some of the most essential tools, such as the straight blade, scissors, and file. It does basic, all-around jobs. It is very useful for keeping in the trunk, in a weekend-bag, or the like. I would recommend one of the more specific and detailed camping knifes for longer trips, or trips where you might need access to more tools. |

Very Nice-Not Amazing However

Althoguh I do not like these as much as the Maxis Ignitor, these seem to perform well in the all-mountain category. These tires seem to supply enough grip for most needs, though I do not feel they provide as much downhill speed as their competitors. Lots of traction on rock, less certain traction on mud, sand, and wet conditions. Good value for the price, and overall good tire, but can use some tweaking. |

This is a great navi tool, but somewhat useless for most people. If you're an outdoors man, afraid to use a GPS by itself, or just want another cool gadget, this is a top-of-the-line navigator.
