An ok sleeping pad
11-28-08 ![]() |
This is an ok sleeping pad. Adds an ok amount of cushion when sleeping. It does help with any annoying bumps and ruts on the ground when sleeping, but I would've preferred spending a few more bucks on a self inflating air pad. It is lightweight but does take up a lot of space, cant roll it tightly. It is a tough pad and will hold up to a lot of abuse. This pad does provide some warmth from the ground. Pair this with a sleeping bag and you should be fine in any temp. It also protects your sleeping bag from packing out. If you need a cheap solution to a sleeping pad, it is better than the cheap blue foam pads, but Id prefer an air pad over this. |

Great Simple Knife
11-14-08 ![]() |
This is a great simple knife. As the description says no bells and whistles. The blade has a thumb stud. It isnt spring assisted, but it isnt that difficult to open it with one hand. It does take a little bit getting used to but with a little practice you'll be flicking this knife open quickly. This knife wont open up if you drop it. I did test it by dropping it on my floor from about shoulder height a few times. Blade stays in its place when folded. It might get loose after being opened a lot over time, but for now I'm not worried about it accidentally opening up. Knife feels solid, nice smooth opening action. Handle is solid and feels comfortable to hold in my hand. Has a pretty good weight to it, fairly well balanced. Has the LAWKs system so this folding knife can be locked into a fixed position for those times when your a little bit of excessive force on the knife. Knife has a built in clip so you can clip it onto your belt or wherever you feel like clipping it. Word of caution, this knife is really sharp. Was running my thumb lightly across the blade a few times back and forth and before I knew it I drew some blood. Didnt realize it actually cut my thumb until the blood starting coming out a few mins later. This is a great knife, and for its price you really cant complain. If your looking for a knife just to have around when you need it and need something cheap take a look at this one. |

Great goggles
11-10-08 ![]() |
These are great looking goggles. Just a little disappointed the strap is the old strap and not the new o matter straps. Had to buy the extra helmet strap from oakley. Fit of the goggles are great. I also own a pair of a frames and both of these goggles fit my face fine. Wisdom is def for a bigger face but both fit fine. Love the design of the wisdoms. Oakley products are great. Must buy. |

Great Helmet
10-27-08 ![]() |
Helmet was much lighter than I expected. My old Giro SST helmet feels like a brick compared to this thing. The fit of this helmet was perfect. The adjustable dial at the back allowed me to find the perfect fit for my head allowing the helmet to sit properly on my head. The adjustable vents on top is a plus. I hated having to take out the plugs from my helmet on a warm day and keeping them in my pocket because I had a high risk of loosing them. Having control over how wide open to keep the vents is great. Keep them closed on those long lift rides then open them halfway when I start burning up. The wireless headphones are great too. I have access to my phone as an mp3 player. It paired quickly with my chocolate phone. The controls are easy to use for play/pause, volume and changing songs even with gloves on. The range of the bluetooth is pretty good too. No interference or static for a good 30 feet from the source. However the one downside was the connection with the cell phone while talking, sometimes it comes in loud and clear from both ends, other times ill sound like a robot. But whose talking on their phone while bombing down a mountain anyway?? The included dj headband was a plus. It allows me to use the headphones when Im not riding. I can also connect the headphones to my computer and use it as a headset when talking over VOIP and listening to music. Not constrained by the length of wires anymore. I can roam around my house and still listen to music from my computer. Overall great helmet, great audio. Would be a 5 rating if the cell conversations were more consistent in sound and reliability. Def a steal when this thing pops up on tramdock or any of their other sites. |

| Oakley Wisdom Goggle DO NOT USE This product is no longer available |
Will Work With Helmet
11-16-08 ![]() |
These goggles are great and will work perfectly fine with the new helmet straps included with the newer models of the Wisdoms. The old straps were a hard plastic with three studs near the band and a circle where the strap attached to the frame. This strap would and will not work with a helmet even if you were it underneath your helmet. Strap is too short and it will not sit properly on your face. However, the new strap is flexible and longer. It also has a rubber grip along the inside of the strap so it wont move around on your helmet. Great feature when using with a helmet. Make sure you are wearing a beanie or something on your head or the rubber will start ripping some of your hair out. If you get the old strap with your wisdoms, you can always buy the helmet strap from oakley. If you can try and buy the wisdoms with the new strap. You'll love these goggles. |

Newer Wisdoms Helmet Friendly
11-14-08 ![]() |
The newer Oakley wisdoms with the o matter helmet straps work very well with any helmet. Fits perfectly.. the old straps had the hard plastic ends that wouldnt fit any helmet you put on and the straps were short. Look for the newer ones. The old ones look like a triangle with three studs where there straps are and a circle where frame meets the strap. The new straps are very flexible and have the rubber along the inside strap so it wont slip off your helmet. Look for these straps. As for the goggles. They are an awesome looking goggle. They fit great and perform even better. The optics of these goggles have perfect clarity. The assortment of lenses to choose from depending the weather conditions outside are great. The lenses will stratch if you wipe the inside while it is wet, but oakley warns you about this. So make sure its dry before you start wiping those smudges away. Use the provided storage bag to wipe your lenses and you wont have to worry about putting any new scratches on your goggles. They triple layer foam fleece wick away sweat from your face. The air surge ports keep the air flowing preventing any fogging in the goggle. The frame is a nice polyurethane lens which means it holds it shape pretty well but still has some flex to it. These things dont feel like your cheap 20 goggles. There are a bunch of other goggles out in the market today. But you can never go wrong with oakley and their product line. They have a model to fit everyones face. |

Great baselayer
11-26-08 ![]() |
I use this as my baselayer when snowboarding. Its great. Keeps me warm by wicking sweat away from my body. I stay warm and dry. This top is lightweight and feels very comfortable. I'm a small person so this top isn't snug on me, but the cut is great none the less. Ive worn it all day snowboarding and it doesn't stink, unlike my other clothing that ive used as baselayers in the past. I bought 2 of these for those longer snowboarding trips even though I'm sure the one would've been fine. I love how the shirt has a zip all the way up to the neck. Doesnt cut off like a crew shirt so it provides a bit more protection from the cold when I'm wearing a jacket. Go and buy some of these I'm sure you'll love them. |

No Leak Problems Here
11-18-08 ![]() |
Ive had this bottle for a while now and I use it almost every day. Love camelbak and their products. The bite vale on this bottle is genius. I havent had any leak problems with this thing. I can throw it around and I still havent seen it leak. Maybe the others have a defective bottle, I dont know. Its great to be able to drink out of this bottle without having to tip the bottle up in the air. Simple just bite down on the bite valve and drink. The straw reaches all the way to the bottom so you have no problem getting every drop of water. The bottle is BPA free so thats a plus. The rubber bite valve and bottle dont leave any taste to your water. The same cant be said for the straw that is included. If any water is hanging around inside the straw it may leave a little plastic taste, but as soon as you take that small sip the taste will go away. This only happens if you leave water in there for a long time. There is a small loop at the top of the bottle which is great if you need to clip the bottle to your pack when your on a hike. Overall Im very happy with this purchase. Great buy in my opinion. |

an ok pad
11-16-08 ![]() |
This is an ok stomp pad. I prefer the dakine x mat over this one. Its great that you can place the pads in whatever configuration you want but the small pieces that I had eventually fell off. The big middle piece stayed on fine and it does provide an excellent grip for a stomp pad but I still prefer the x mat over this one. |

An ok goggle
11-29-08 ![]() |
These are an ok goggle from Oakley. This line doesnt compare to that of their higher end goggles. You dont get the circular lenses which provide distortion free viewing. What makes the wisdoms, aframes, and crowbars amazing goggles is the amazing clarity you get from their lenses. These are comfortable with the foam, but its not the same as their other products. These will do fine for what you need but you can get a better pair for much less if you check out other brands. If you just want the oakley name these will do, but once again go for their higher end stuff or check out other brands. |

Great pants
11-11-09 ![]() |
Great pants. Like previous review said, in the mocha pants the box pattern is actually a rainbox color but it still looks good. Pictures make it look like its just a beige color when in fact its a rainbox color. Its only noticeable if your up close looking at them. I grabbed the small. Im only 5'4' but these pants are ginormous. Super baggy. Would probably fit someone up to 5'7 - 5'8 they are that baggy. Inside has adjustable tabs so you can go from a size 32 down to 28. Waist is probably bigger. But it can fit someone with a size 28 waist. Vents on both inner and outer thigh. Gaiter has enough slack to fit over boot. Bottom of pant has leg snaps to pull pants up when walking through the lot. Lots of pockets. 2 zip pockets that are felt lined. The two cargo pockets with that belt buckle which is closed by velcro on the flap and inside the pocket so nothing is falling out if you put something inside there. One pocket on the bottom right leg. Fleece on the butt and knees to keep you warm if your sitting on the snow or on your knees. Wear a light baselayer underneath and you're good to go. |

Amazing ton of features
11-11-09 ![]() |
This is my favorite jacket Ive ever bought for snowboarding. Its always hard for me to find a jacket that isnt cut too large so your swimming in a sea of jacket. Im short, only 5'4 120lbs. Was lucky enough to find this jacket in xs which is the perfect length in arms and torso. Lets start with the waterproofing and breathability 20k/20k. Water just beads up and goes away. I dont have to worry about riding in a jacket that soaked in water. It just doesnt happen. Ive ridden in some very wet conditions and this jacket hasnt failed on me yet. There IS insulation in this jacket although very little of it. Enough to keep you warm in 0-30F temp. Any colder and I would layer up inside with something. The inside is lined with a thin layer of fleece on the torso and some thin insulation in the arms. Only thing I wear underneath when I ride is a thin base layer top and I'm good to go. If the wind is really blowing out you can feel a lil bit cold esp when sitting on a chair lift. Features: This thing is packed with them. Wrist gaiters, removable snow skirt, removable hood. An audio pocket with holes for ear phones. A large goggle pocket. A removable sun-glass holder, one of those bags that can be clipped into the goggle pocket. A watch window (so you can read your wrist watch without taking your gloves off) A balaclava hidden inside a large pocket in the back which you can store a hydration bladder and route it to the front of your jacket. Suspenders which you can wear when it gets hot out and you need to remove your coat without having put it down. Your hood has a viewing angle of 180 degrees (had no idea what that meant until I tried it.)The hood has windows at eye level on the left and the right so you can still see even though you have your hood on your head. I can wear the hood with a helmet, probably wont stay there but it fits. There are an insane amount of pockets. 5 just on the outside. The part of the jacket that touches your neck is a neoprene type material that has a small storm flap so the wind doesn't get in, the front zipper has a double storm flap so wind doesn't get in. The neck zips all the way up and is covered with a nice soft felt so its not rough on your face. There is just so many little details built into this jacket that are actually useful and functional, that if I were to get a new jacket Id expect that jacket to have the same features but Id probably have a hard time finding that jacket. The styling and cut of this jacket is just perfect on me. Never had the chance to have a jacket that fit just like this. I was lucky enough to find this jacket for only 120 so that was a steal. Been using this jacket for a season now approx 20 - 25 days of riding and no tears or wearing away of any materials and Ive had taken a good amount of bad spills. Riding through the glades and snagging branches hasn't torn this jacket up. To sum it up if someone stole or destroyed my jacket, Id buy it again in a heartbeat. |

Huge Amazing Goggles
01-06-09 ![]() |
I had the opportunity to use these goggles during my last snowboarding trip. 1. These are huge and I absolutely love that. This increases your peripheral vision. You can barely see the frame when you put these on. It looks like you're wearing an fighter pilots helmet when you put these on. They are super comfy and do well in bright bluebird days. I own the oakley wisdoms and aframes and I wish I had these. They look amazing. |

Good big mat
11-16-08 ![]() |
This is a good big stomp pad. The clear model allows any design or graphic on your board to show through. Allows you to have the added benefit of a stomp pad without ruining the graphics on your board. The mat is soft rubber and not as grippy as the Dakine X mat, but it does its job well and its fairly big, so it provides a large surface area to place your foot on. The Scraper in the middle is good to remove all the stuck snow and ice on your boot before you strap in. |

Comfy but lackluster
10-28-08 ![]() |
These boots were comfy, but after a season of riding, the boot just became so soft. If you want a boot that has a super soft flex, then go for these. Id rather have a boot that has a medium flex so I can have some kind of response when bombing down a mountain. Also who wants to buy a boot without a lacing system. The lacing systems of the better boots change my whole mindset of what I look for in a boot. Fits true to size. |

Great boot
10-28-08 ![]() |
Love the quick lace system. Might not be able to tighten them as much as a BOA system boot, but these fulfill my needs for a lacing system. I can get the desired tightness of the boot . My friends will still be lacing up their boots by the time I'm waiting at the lift. Had these boots for a good season, rode about 30+ times. Boot barely packed out. Heard many stories of these boots packing out fast but mine hasnt shown that. Inner boot keeps my feet nice and warm and keeps my foot in place. No heel lift on these boots for me. Tried a pair of burtons that werent as comfortable. Did have to change the inner foot bed. Never liked the cheap stuff they put in them. Replaced them with a nice gel one. Keep me comfy without cramping my foot up. Has a medium flex for any of the freeriders out there need the response, but enough flex to allow you to throw out those freestyle tricks while flying off a 10 foot tabletop. Boot is of good quality, doesnt show much wear even after resting my board on my backfoot. Edges destroyed my pair before I grabbed these. |

| Ride EX Snowboard Binding Read other reviews of this product |
Good binding for the Price
10-28-08 ![]() |
This binding is very well constructed. This may be in their low end line but the construction of this binding is very well done. All aluminum chassis with adjustable toe ramp and heel cushion. Dampens vibrations very well and provides a softer landing when your landing from those big kickers. I love the very large strap. Provides optimal support without putting any pressure points since the area is very well distributed across your foot. Love the convertible toe strap. Using it as a cap strap allows me to keep my foot locked in tight without the pressure points on my toes. Used to hate that with my old binding before there was the cap strap. Would have to take a break every few runs to prevent my foot from cramping due to that toe strap. Tool-less strap adjustment is nice for centering the boot strap. Wish the toe strap was toolless also, but I only have to fit it to my boots once anyway so its not a big deal. Grabbed a size medium, I wear a size 8.5 boot and my boot fits fine. If I had a large I think I still wouldve had some overhang from the binding. Barely have anything with the medium. Toe and heel ramps help keep my foot from hanging over the edge. I can get my board up at a much higher angle before I get any drag which will help with carving instead of having to crank the bindings at such a high aggressive forward stance. Now I can crank them down and have an easier time landing larger jumps due to my base being more stable. bottom line: Has enough adjustability. Due you really need to spend more money for lift and cant adjustment?? I know I dont. Has a nice medium flex for some good freeriding response. If your strapped on cash and want a decent binding to keep you strapped in.. by the ex. |

Great Fit
10-28-08 ![]() |
Didnt realize there was any distortion from my old pair of smith goggles until I bought these goggles. Grabbed the hi intensity yellow lens for that more than common flat light overcast days we normally ride here on the east ice coast. The A frame fits my face perfectly with no gap on the nose piece. I have the asian face so lots of time there is a small gap at the nose. This fits perfectly. Peripherals are ok. Clarity of the lens is great. Fits my Giro Fuse helmet without any gaps. Only problem is strap is short so fits a little bit tight at first. As soon as that strap starts stretching out a little bit the fit will be perfect. Very glad I purchased a pair of these. |

Warm Comfy Socks
10-27-08 ![]() |
Bought these socks because I needed a new pair of socks for snowboarding. They are warm comfy and provide enough cushion in the areas where needed. I dont like thick socks because they make my boot fit too tight. These are just right. They stay in place and dont bunch up inside my boot leaving a comfortable fit all day. As soon as I saw these on SAC I grabbed three pairs so I dont have to worry about having dirty socks on multi-day snowboarding trips. These socks arent just for skiing, work great for snowboard boots too. |

Great Pad
11-16-08 ![]() |
This is a great straight forward stomp pad. The spikes are hard and sharp and provide great grip for your back foot. I love the clear stomp pad. It allows the design to be seen through to avoid ruining the design of your snowboard. Some people dont like using stomp pads but i like having something to place my foot on when ice freezes on top of your snowboard. Not cool when your foot slips when your skating around. |
