I tend to not really layer until the real cold (below 40/30 sets in and this jacket is a great pickup to help tide you over until then, it's warm and lightweight, but definitely not made to protect you from the real cold by itself.

I snagged the last size 12 Yellow Supra Vaiders they had, sorry. They have every component though they're high-tops, super shiny, and they're yellow. Throw these on saturday morning before heading out to your favorite hungover brunch spot and people won't even notice the busted ass girl you brought with you.

Throw on a baselayer and this jacket and you're pretty much good to go, it's extremely lightweight, but it's a great windstopper and the snow skirt will keep the powder out and you warm and dry.

This jacket is awesome, the only problem you might experience with it is sizing, I'm 6'1 175 and the large was just a bit too big for me, but I have a smaller upper build and like my jackets a little tighter. So if you're in this range you have to figure in how big your build is and how tight you like your jackets/if you plan on layering under the jacket or over the jacket. The branding on it is great, a cool goat logo that's not too big or flashy is the perfect addition to this wool hooded jacket.

These DC Manteca 3's are so comfortable, and the red ones have yet to stain my socks, but it's early. These shoes are great, just don't switch the laces out with yellow ones or you'll look like Ronald McDonald... And then all your friends will try to put makeup on you when you're drunk and take you to McDonalds. Seriously. Trust me.

I picked up the large ballistic Black Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger Bag and it's huge. Maybe almost too big for my daily ride to work, but other than that it's great. I easily fit my helmet, cycling clothes, laptop, and a pair of sneakers in the bag with room to spare. You could probably fit 6-8 laptops in the bag, but then again who cares around 6 laptops, I max out at 2. The built in laptop compartment doesn't seem to be removable so I wouldn't be trying to use this one as a beer cooler like the other timbuk2 bags.

These Electric Detroit sunglasses are sick, they're a classic styling that has been given a face lift with fresh color combos. I snagged a purple pair and may just pick up a red and white pair as well. They have a kind of weird pattern going on on the inside of the arms, but when they're on, you can't tell.

I hate not having complete field of vision and my old goggles spent many a days on top of my head; instead of covering my eyes. Coming home from the mountain day after day with serious eye fatigue though I decided I needed to actually get some goggles and wear them. The Smith I/O goggles have the best field of vision I have seen. The only obstructed view is right at the bottom of the goggle and the bridge of the nose. I can live with that since they save my eyes the strain and will hopefully save my nose from breaking in my next inevitable face plant. Any fog that builds up clears almost instantly and they come with two different lens which are seriously easy to replace... Unless you're like me trying to do it driving down the interstate in the pitch black dark. Don't do that.

This is probably the best helmet out there for the price. The Smith Holt Skullcandy Audio Helmet is a good looking helmet, with lots of vents for the hotheads like me, and the speakers in the ear pads are great. The helmet to ipod connecting cord seemed a little cheap and would crackle sometimes when it got jarred around, but this was a quick fix with a higher quality cable. The sound is great for the price and gets more than loud enough for me. It's also a perfect gap-free fit with my Smith I/O goggles.

Picked these up at the beginning of the season and they seem to be holding up really well. I spend a lot of time on the ground and I always walk away from the mountain bone dry. I wear a size 32 pant so I got the medium, a bit tighter than i expected and not a lot of sag (I'm 6'1) but they'll do.

I wear a size 12 in DC shoes and got a 12 in the boots, they seem pretty true to size. The boa system couldn't be easier or faster and they're comfortable enough to leave on after a long day on the mountain when you just want to fall asleep on the couch after eating all the cup of noodle soups and frozen pizzas you had in the house.

I wouldn't buy this product to head to Hawaii for the week, unless you're just packing your swim trunks, but it's great for an overnight or two night business trip. It's built to take getting banged up by the airline if you want to check it, but it's small enough to carry on and throw in the overhead (depending on who you fly with). Overall it's a great rolling bag, that's high quality and rolls better than any bag I've ever had, but it's not for those packing heavy or going on long trips.

Coal makes some awesome beanies that are made to stand up to the punishment of hitting the slopes everyday or crunching excel sheets in the office everyday, like I get to do. This one comes worn in like the beanie I've been wearing for the past few years, without the un-awesome air vents (read: huge holes).

I'm 6'1 175 and the medium fit awesome, except for the butt (which mine may be large for a medium) which seems to not be a huge fan of me sitting down and it having to stretch (zippers weren't made to stretch). Other than that it's amazing, I'm debating picking up 6 more so i can wear a fresh one every day of the week, it perfect as a baselayer for the slopes or as comfortable jammies to wear around the house and weird out your housemates. And can it really get any better than pterodactyls? Only they make a triceratops version. Or Megalodon.

...It would be this one. I picked these up a couple days ago, right before the snow started dumping here in utah so I haven't had a chance to wear them out yet, but the day chinese democracy drops these kicks will be on my feet; rain, sleet, or snow. They're sick.

But these Castelli Ergo Due Knickers were the perfect pickup for the Utah Fall, they keep my knees warm enough for the frigid morning rides to work and wick away the sweat during my all uphill ride home at the end of the day. Looks like I'll be riding my bike to work until the first snowfall after all, or until my speed wobble gets the best of me and sends me flying into the asphalt. I'll let you know how the knickers hold up to that.

For many years I had zero faith in Nike, and then along comes Nike 6.0 with fresh styling and shoes that aren't all about basketball. The Nike 6.0 Dunk Low is awesome, great look, fresh colors, happy to have picked up a pair.

These Burton Approach gloves are great, they keep the snow out and my hands really dry. The removable liner can be left in the car on warmer days and great to have in on colder days. For the coldest days I'd suggest getting a bit warmer liner though, unless you have awesome blood circulation or lack fingers, at which point you should probably just get mittens. Oh and if you get them in Apres Plaid Touch the Sky and rock the Burton AK 2L Cyclic Pants in Totally Pink be prepared for some overly matching steeze

I am so tired of riding my bike and having to give head nods to you cycling nerds out there in your fluorescent yellow jerseys and neon orange shorts. I understand you don't want to get hit by a car, but you look like a moron and It's bad enough that you're wearing lyrca shorts in public. Instead why don't you pick up a jersey like this Castelli Prologo Cycling Jersey that has some classic style and isn't plastered in logos of companies you aren't sponsored by. It's a great breathable jersey, lots of back pockets, but you're going to need a jacket or an underarmor shirt underneath for the actual cold, despite the long sleeves. Bottom Line: No matter how fast you ride in your fluorescent gear, but I'm going to look way better doing it.
