Great Value

Bought this as a second bag that my wife could use. Was trying to keep the cost down due to all the S&C.com purchases. Grabbed this at a great price and worth every penny. When I removed it from the stuff sack it did feel a little weak and thin. I threw it in the front loader on air only for 15mins and then layed it out on the bed. Came back after work and it felt much better. Was rather warm and I feel for me it would meet the 30degree rating. Most manufactures figure you will wear a light long sleeve shirt and pantlayer while in the bag to obtain heat ratings. Direct wind and lack of sleeping pad will also affect any bags ability to keep you warm. Last not all people sleep at the same temps, I am a warm sleeper and feel this bag will keep me plenty warm based off of the trial runs I have given it so far. Great value and compresses well. Would of been nice to have a storage sack other then the stuff sack for when not hiking with it to keep the loft going strong over the years. But for the price (under retail) I love it. |

Feet stayed warm but....
03-10-09 ![]() |
My feet didn't get sweaty or cold while using them for the first time yesterday. Temps were 22 base 10 summit. I ride with Burton boots. Not sure if they are not meant to work well with snowboarding boots but they were uncomfortable against my skin. At the top of my foot in the ankle area turned red & slightly raw on both feet. Taking a shower that night was a little painful with water hitting those areas. Maybe my boots were too tight or maybe it was the material but wasn't to happy with the slight pain I had afterward. I never experienced this with my other thicker socks & boots combo. I could feel some discomfort during the day and thought maybe the sock or pant liner was bunched up under my boot. When I checked everything looked fine and the socks were pulled up all the way. It could not be the socks fault but I am not sure what to blame for this. |

Great pad, Great Price on Outlet

I ordered both the regular and long. I just recently hiked with the long pad. It's 2" thickness made for the best tent sleeping I have ever had. I used to use the same size pad but a Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Sleeping Pad" and it was bulkier but lighter and no comparison on comfort. This Lightweight series pad was extremly comfortable. The only issue I could see is how far it sticks out on the sides while packed. It does roll up tight if you take your time to push the air out. The regular was not as tall and would work better as a backpacking pad but I think I will try to use this long version due to the comfort. The reg is only a half inch less thick but over 1.5lbs lighter and easier to pack. Also it did fill up well when I set up camp. Opened the valve and came back to it a hour later and all I had to do is blow a few breaths into it. Later that night I kept letting air out for increased cushion so most likely it will fill itself up to the right ammount of air more my needs. The price on Outlet and SteapandCheap are amazing. I almost want to order another reg in case the long is to big for longer hikes. Get one. |
