BUY A SIZE UP
12-07-08 ![]() |
I ordered one size up because of other reviews on this site, and it made all the difference. They're awesome gloves, they can keep you're hands warm and perfectly dry in virtually any contions, but for whatever reason they are definitely made one size too small. Seriously, order one size up and you'll be glad you did. Unless you just really love making returns & exchanges or something. Okay, enough of the sizing. The outer glove is fully taped gore-tex, so your hands literally cannot get wet through these things, and the leather palms and fingers give you some nice dexterity and grip provided the style of the gloves. The interchangeable liners are a nice feature for riding in varied temperatures. They come with a polatec fleece liner with primaloft on the back of the hand, for colder condtions, and a pair of smaller, plain glove liners for not-so-cold days. The smaller ones have nice rubber grip on the palms so they're perfect for when you need to make a call or something on the lift but don't want your fingers to turn to icicles. |

Very Versatile Pack
12-09-08 ![]() |
I orignally got this pack before heading off to college because I needed one that could hold a 17 inch laptop and plenty of books, and it serves that job perfectly. There's plenty of pockets to organize your stuff, and just enough padding to make sure nothing gets broken (but let's not test it). The seperate laptop sleeve is perfect for safely transporting your computer while still having easy access. Also, its comfortable enough that I've even used it for a short day hike and it was more than up to the job. |

Gets the Job Done, and Then Some
12-07-08 ![]() |
After a few years of leaving the mountain with damp layers due to moisture soaking through my jacket, I decided to upgrade to a waterproof shell. Let's just say I couldn't be more pleased. The venting system is great, keeps a good air flow going when you don want to overheat. I expected the GoreTex to not let any moisture through, and it lived up to that, but I was really impressed by the aquazip zippers. They aren't very smooth to slide up and down, but man, they do their job well. I've been out in a couple heinous rainstorms and they're yet to let anything through. And despite being totally waterproof, it is ridiculously light and packs down tiny, so think there's any chance you might need it, you can just stuff it in your pack. One thing to note, the handwarmer pockets are not actually fleece-lined like the item description says, but it hasn't bothered me at all, considering I have gloves on 90% of the time when I'm wearing it. |

Kelty Redwing

Used it for multiple day trips and a 2-day hut-to-hut, design is simple and functional. Comfortable even under a significant load, plenty of tie-down points for strapping things on. I've actually strapped my skimboard to the back of this pack so that I could take it on a bike trip to a beach. I honestly thought it was a crazy idea when I started, but it worked out perfectly. |

I've been riding in these guys for over 2 seasons now, and there are still minimal signs of wear. They're durable, comfortable, and they'll keep your feet warm and dry in thick of it. I've never had any complaints. Plus they come in some sweet styles you don't see every day. I gotta say though, is a shame they discontinued the green argyle, it was pretty fresh. |

What's not to love?
11-25-08 ![]() |
Ditch your old landlubber shoes and give these guys a shot next time you're out on the water. The treads offer solid grip, the open mesh allows them to drain and dry fast, and the collapsible heel makes them easy to slip on for walking around camp. Trust me, you'll appreciate that when nature calls in the middle of the night. |

Use the NikWax
12-09-08 ![]() |
A few of these reviews are complaining about the gloves not being waterproof. I don't know if they got a defective pair or ifhy just didn't use the NikWax leather waterproofer that comes with them, because since I put the waterproofer on, my hands are yet to get wet. I've wor them around in the pouring rain, nothing gets through. The low profile is great but the best part is that they're still really warm. Bottom Line: Make sure to waterproof the leather, and you'll have yourself some warm, durable, and waterproof gloves. |

White Tie-Dye
12-07-08 ![]() |
Almost forgot, if you're into purple, you'll love the White Tie-Dye. But if you ordered them expecting your earpads to be white and blue(like me), well, you might end up returning it(like me). I sent it back and got another in brown, which I actually like better than the tie-dye even if it had been blue instead of purple. Still five stars, cause it's still a sick helmet. Not its fault I didn't look closely at the picture. |

Comfortable All-Mountain Bindings
12-07-08 ![]() |
These guys can take you anywhere you want on the mountain, from the back to the backcountry, and you'll be ng comfortable every step of the way. The ankle strap is plush and contoured to fit with the boot for maximum comfort, and as always the capstrap on the toe delivers great response. The Living Hinge offers easy adjustability too, so you can change your lean on the fly. |

I used these socks all last season and my feet literally never got cold. They're soft and comfortable, they stay up your legs, will keep your feet dry and warm, and they have padding in all the right places to ensure sure you don't get any sore spots, its that simple. They're just awesome socks. |

Great Go-to Softshell
12-07-08 ![]() |
I think the fact that I wear this almost every day October-March basically speaks for itself. The fit is good, slim enough to not get in the way of things but loose enough to allow for layering underneath. Its quite water- and wind-resistant, though I wouldn't wear it out in torrential downpours if I could avoid it. I've worn it hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding, as an outer shell in the spring or as a layer in colder weather, and its always served me well. If you want an all purpose softshell where you know you'll get more than your money's worth out of it, look no further. |

Not the warmest gloves out there, but still surpringly warm for their low profile size. They're perfect for what they're designed to do, provide you with low profile dexterity so you can get your grabs down. |

Your Sunday Best

Alright so I might not suggest wearing these to church, but they flat out get the job done on the mountain, and with some seriously funky style. They have some nice flex to em, but are still stiff enough that you won't have to wear yourself out just to make your turns. The gel cushioned bottoms are nice and easy on the feet. Between those and the moldable liners, you've got yourself some very comfortable boots. Also, they're are substantial enough to keep your feet warm in most conditions, like most snowboard boots. |

Heads Up: No In-line Volume Control
12-08-08 ![]() |
They're definitely a good pair of earbuds for 20 bucks. They hold up for a while, stay in your ears quite well, and put out pretty good sound for their size. Despite what the description says, they don't actually have in-line volume control (check out their big cousins, the smokin' buds, if you've got your heart set on that). |

Perfect Travel Bag

I used this bag last time I traveled to Colorado and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It is well padded and the exterior fabric can take a serious beating. It's got all the room you could want inside, I fit my board, 2 pairs of boots, helmet, goggles, 2 pairs of gloves, and a jacket in there without a problem. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. |

So I'm still not sure what the deal is with this interchangeable mesh technology, but these guys vent really well as is, I haven't had them fog up on me once. The graphics are awesome, and if you aren't used to spherical lenses, you'll be surpised how well it opens up your vertical peripherals. Oh yeah, and they're just flat out comfortable goggles, your face will be happy. |

Lighter than you thought possible
12-07-08 ![]() |
I cannot emphasize enough how insanely light this helmet is. I'd been wearing a Giro for a couple years before I picked this up, and when I first took it out of the box I could barely believe it. It's so light and comfortable you'll forget it's on your head before you're done clipping it on. If you're into havin' some tunes while you ride, I recommend getting the skullcandy subwoofer earpads to go with it, they put out some serious sound. |
