First of all I was tired of having all my outdoor gear made in China, so was looking for Canadian or American made(stimulate economy) and came across Westcomb.A Canadian company, I believe started by some ex Arc'teryx people (if anyone knows for sure let me know). SinceArc'teryx makes a lot of their stuff in China and still charges the same I went for Westcomb. Now I want to get rid of all my Gore-tex and replace it with e-vent. This jacket is now my favourite. Took it up Mt Assiniboine and encoutered all manner of weather form rain, wind and sleet to snow and I stayed dry and and more dry. Like the previous reviewer, this jacket has no tacky inside jacket feeling after rain and exertion, is extremely durable, ultra light and packs small.
