I am a short-distance bike commuter and casual biker, and while I love the additional comfort of a little padding, I hate the sausage leg effect that so many bike shorts give me: the tight leg openings (with grip or tight elastic) make my thighs look chubby. Who needs that? These shorts don't do that, and are super comfy: no binding anywhere, including the waist. Of course I wear them alone, but they also work under the skirts I often wear to work (yes, I bike in skirts), and the no-grip leg hem then has the additional benefit of not snagging on the pantyhose or tights I sometimes wear underneath them.
