Awesome Jacket
03-30-08 ![]() |
Have had mine for little more than six months. Pros: -windy days...you don't feel a thing -warm: if you wear it right, if warn properly, breaths well -water resistant: Wore it in rain that was going sideways for about an hour (about 40 degrees F out). It kept me warm despite weather. Water soaked through eventually, but not until I got inside. Wouldn't suggest it as a rain coat but will hold up well in precipitation for a while. At least long enough for you to decide whether or not the weather will change or if your should throw on your outer shell or actual rain jacket. It kept me warm despite weather -fashionable: on the mountain and off -Maintenance: just follow the washing instruction Need to knows: -Size: buy a size larger, if you don't it probably won't cover your midsection or arms properly. However, do know that it will be large around your midsection, this takes me to warmth, if it is windy, you will want to tighten up the bungees around the waist to keep the breeze from coming up your stomach or up your back. You might not like that the neck is a little loose also. I actually love this because if it particularly cold and/or windy, I burrow my head into that loose shape in the collar and cover my chin and mouth up in that -Lint: the fleece on the jacket collects it...rather minor gripe I know, just thought you should be informed. Cons: -What I listed in the need to know -Price: didn't actually buy it, it was a gift, but still, it isn't cheap. However, had it not been a gift, I would have bought it eventually anyways. All in all, I feel it is worth every penny. Just got back from an 18 mile day hike up in Yosemite and am so glad I had. It was about 45 most of the day, but 35 when we started. Would throw it on when we took a break and my sweat would cool. Drizzled a little, wore it then as well. Coldn't wear it all day though, as it got to hot. |
