Great Helmet, Not for Me
04-22-09 ![]() |
I took a trip out to SLC at the beginning of March and had the chance to try one of these puppies on at a local boardshop. At that time, I found it to be very comfortable, not too bulky, and stylish enough for my liking. Though, for $140 bones, I wasnt buying. Once I returned back to NY, I came across this piece online at a discount through Brociety and placed an order for a Large, No Wave (White). I spoke to one of the customer reps. prior to purchasing, because I knew that my size was actually a medium and the dude was very helpful (as always with bco's support team). He assured me that the sizing options that the helmet has, including the adjustable skull straps inside the helmet should adjust to fit my dome size regardless of the indicated size (because the difference between M and L was not that much). To my surprise, he was right. I received the order and threw it on. After a few tweaks, BOOM, it fit like a dream. I must say that all in all this thing is light has all get out and has enough amenities to meet anyone's needs. My only beef was with the visor and how it integrated with my goggles. I have about 5 different pairs made by different companies and couldn't find a comfortable match with the visor connected. Without the visor, the fit is fine though. If you are planning on using goggles, go ahead and get this to see if it works with your setup but I don't know if you'll be successful. Or if you don't use them, this helmet will most likely be perfect. However, not being able to use my eye wear was enough for me to send this back for a refund. |

Pleased, Not Thrilled
02-23-09 ![]() |
I got this jacket at the end of 2008 and loooveeed the color combo (brilliance yellow). Very stylish looking, but very weird shell/inner fleece. I got the large hoping the jacket wouldn't be too big, and I was a little wrong. I know that foursquare runs larger than expected... but the problem was that the inside fleece fit perfectly and the outside shell was just sloppy-big in my opinion. I thought about returning this for a medium, but realized that it wouldn't fit me unless I wanted to discard the fleece liner- which, is a bit on the cheap side as one of the other posters alluded too. If you like baggy, this is a good jacket and it serves its purpose of being warm. On snowy days, it has a tendency to get wet, and a bit heavier than it already is. I'm satisfied, but find myself rocking other gear (separate jacket, hoodie, or fleece) at any chance that I can. |

Fresh and Functional
02-23-09 ![]() |
I picked this jacket up and intended to use it only on warmer days. Strangely enough, I've found myself rocking it all winter long so far... usually with a fleece or hoodie underneath just to keep warm. In all honesty, I haven't actually worn it without layering on cold days, so I can't say that the thing won't keep you warm... but it def. does its job protecting you from wind or when flakes fly and serves as a great shell. If that's what you're looking for, pick this thing up. I got the white and its sharp looking if I do say so myself. The angled zipper and laced up accenting is freshly unique. I'm 5'10'' and 175ish, decided to go with the medium because I don't like swimming in my clothes- it fits perfect. Not too tight, not too baggy. Would have rated this piece as a 5, if not for the fact that it gets dirrrrty easily. With that said, it is to be expected any time you buy all white gear. Ran it through the washer with some stain treatment and it came pretty clean so if you can deal with that, it's all good. |

Real Nice Pair
03-03-08 ![]() |
These gloves are really nice if you wear them as 2 different parts- which makes it a versatile product and is really more like 3 pairs for the price of one. I found that the shell itself is warm enough to wear all alone in pretty much any weather you'll ride in at a normal winter outing. Obviously the inner lining (park gloves) are best used on the warmest days when you'll probably be rockin' a tee or the shell of your jacket. When you put the two parts of this glove together, they are extremely warm and made me sweat, except for when it was brutally cold out. In that case these gloves were perfect. I don't think that my hands have been remotely close to cold since I've purchased them. My only complaint is that this pair is a touch stiff... while i am still in the process of breaking them in, it seems as if they are going to remain on the stiff side for the duration. In addition to that, they run a bit small so be sure to size up one from what you'd normally pay for. (I usually wear large and bought the XLs and they were still a bit cramped). Comfortable, functional, stylish, and seem that they will be durable--- everything you could ask for in a good glove! |
