I got the men's small because I'm an average sized woman but didn't like any of the women's jackets available. It's kept me dry on several wet hikes here in the rainy pacific northwest, including a rainy weekend on Mt Rainier. I like that it's breathable enough that I don't get clammy sweating on the uphill. The hood is too big, it falls across my eyes if I don't have a baseball cap or helmet on, but maybe that's 'cause I've got a smaller head than a man. I do wish the pockets were a bit bigger, but otherwise this is a great jacket

This is a great jacket for cold weather hiking or daywear. I tend to hike hot, so I wore it over a basic technical shirt to climb Mt Rainier and did great while moving. It stopped the wind marvelously. It's also a great jacket for everyday use. I think it runs fairly true to size, I'm 5'6" and the medium is perfect. The sleeve cuffs, while not too small, don't have any stretch, so make sure you're ok with that

This thing kept me warm summiting the washington volcanoes, no problem. Without a climbing helmet the hood was too big and would blow off in the high winds, even when cinched tight. That's the only reason it's a 4 and not a 5. I LOVE this thing
